Whole Chicken...... would you use it?

I had a frozen chicken in the freezer. I sat it on the counter last night to thaw out (thinking that I would actually REMEMBER to put it in the fridge before I went to bed).

Got up this morning and THERE IT WAS, still on the counter. It was still very cold to the touch, so I stuck it in the fridge. It sat out about... umm....9 hours or so.

I am planning on cooking it tomorrow (low heat/5 hrs, Sticky Chicken Recipe). As long as it doesn't smell bad.... do you think that it is ok to eat?

I heard a saying years ago.... "If you doubt it, out it". I am really on the fence with this one.

What would you do? Not take any chances and toss it, or if it doesn't smell bad would you just cook it and hope for the best?
