I'm stumped? I found a pit in my back yard
Comments (22)I live in Appalachian Ohio in mine country, and in some parts of our county you need a rider for mines on your home owner's policy. I have to have one at a property I own in town since that section was built over old mines. I also have an old coal bank on my rural property. It was mined privately by an individual, by pick and I'd expect it not to have conventional looking excavating, either. There may be no rhyme or reason why this wasn't just filled in and a piece of wood thrown over it and left to rot. It could be anything, actually including an old dug well or spring or rain water cistern where the bricks had been removed and used for landscaping or something, lol. That's almost the exact measurements for my spring cache basin near the house....See Morei'm back i'm back i'm back
Comments (10)Boys are doin like you said Stacy. Wearing me out!! I must be doing something to them too, Drew fell asleep on the supper table! Hunter caught a few winks mid afternoon til his brother just couldn't stand it any longer and jumped on the bed to wake him up! Course I am sure it has nothing to do with both being up before 7 am! They are EARLY birds....See MoreI'm sure glad I'm not back in Ohio!
Comments (10)Wait until you've gone through a plague of locusts. I've lived through a few 17 year cicada hatches in my lifetime. Not as bad as some of you have described but the sound of them singing was deafening some nights. Still, that was part of growing up in the South so we never knew any different. Still, the cicadas didn't really bother plants, to my knowledge. It was the grasshopper (locust) hatchouts that did that. Rhonda, I can't believe what you're saying about the mayflies and the plows. Wow. And I thought FL had bug problems! The closest I've seen to that is when we had a bad red tide and they had to bring in front end loaders to get all the dead fish and seaweed off the beaches....See MoreIt's been a long time!! Almost 2 years, but I'm back! Help ID?
Comments (7)Frankielynn, I didn't move far, just to Springfield, MO. I actually moved twice last year. The neighbors at my first place were awful and purposely destroyed my plants. I am honestly surprised and grateful that any of them came back this year!! My newer place has better neighbors, more trustworthy. Just less room. Djacobz, I love First Frost, so I wouldn't mind it being one. I just hate when they might be labeled wrong is all! LOL!! Yours is beautiful! My older one came back but I don't think it's going to make it. It's looking declined and sickly. Stupid, old, neighbors!! It was as stunning as yours, though. Steve, I had a Blue Ivory for a couple of years, part of the patio garden rebuild cluster I bought. My neighbors killed it and it didn't come back this year. I was so upset, so I have been looking for it. But, my other one had much larger margins, like yours. That was why I question this new one. But, you may be right, only time will tell....See Morecovingtoncat
