Karen, I would give you the ideas sooner, but remember I have to force myself to start fall decorating, cause I live in a state of denial about the end of summer, LOL I think one of your witches would look really cute on your crescent moon. Nana, Mr. Bat has a pretty cute face, so I don't think he would scare you all that much. I got the idea to use the books with appropriately Halloween type titles from our own Kathe. Punk, the DR pictures will be posted soon, but I have to resize and save them first and then use tinypic to get them to the forum. Jeanne, the "raven" you spied is a happy meal toy from last year when they were doing the owls of Gilhooley or something like that. It was a movie out last year. Hello every one! I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you 3 for your words. Much appreciated! Lulie, Can't imagine how it is to later also loose your 19 year old. Some say it's even "harder" than loosing a parent. Though, in my humble opinion, a loss is a loss. We feel the same hurt and emotions. Although, I obviously miss her very much, I am happy she didn't really suffer and that it was relatively quick. Just felt it was too soon and definitely preventable. Makes me a little angry thinking about it to tell you all the truth. If only she had been willing to see the doctor on a regular basis. Unfortunately that was her own choosing. I realize there was nothing I could have done there. I keep thinking of that point over and over from time to time. I know I shouldn't. To avoid thinking about the "...should have, could have..." scaariios. How did you get from the day you lost your mother/daughter to this day? Just try to take things one day at a time? Keeping busy doing things you normally would have done? Curious. Any one can comment on this btw... Me, I'm just taking it day by day. As I said. Lately, it's just the mornings that are hard for some odd reason. As the day goes on I have an "easier" time. Though, for the past few days, my mornings have been better. Shorter bouts of saddness. Jennmonkey, As I mentioned. I'm presently unemployed so I haven't gone through what you just mentioned yet. Though, when I was working I never called home to my mother. I think it's coming home after work and not seeing her around that might hit me initially. Or not. I don't know. Can I ask you how it was being only 19 and loosing your mother at that time? If it's too hard to talk about I'll understand. I'm just thinking that is about the time you're in University preparing for your life. How for some people it might hinder their ability to function. Especially in such a difficult time. And I though my time with my mother was "short"...39 years. Also can I ask you how old you are now? I just hope I don't suddenly loose control of my emotions at work. Maybe I'm a little old fashioned. That "men shouldn't cry" at least in public. I suppose it's the same either way when you're at work. You don't want your co-workers to think you're freaking out. Going postal. That and you don't really want to tell them all you had recently lost a parent and treat you "special". Any how, thanks again for your comments people! I will definitely keep you posted. I do feel better being able to talk with people who have also lost a family member. It never hits you till it happens to you. Have a good week!

Thanks blfenton - I'm feeling very very confident (and very very happy!!!) about the ceiling situation in the breakfast room. Everytime I walk in there, I absolutely fall in love - again - with how it looks. The engineer was there today. Turns out he is not only a good friend of my husband's dad, he acted as our town's building inspector during an interim period a little while ago. He is going to write up some "specs" on the size of the beam they need to put in - and we'll be good to go!! YAY. Now, as far as the A/C - I think they're managing to get it "in" to every room. I just spoke to my husband on the phone and learned that we need to clean out our attic TODAY. They were originally just working on the kitchen area while it's open, but the boss-man said it will be easier for US if they just forge ahead and get it all done right now. I've lived 50 years (yes - that's my whole life) without A/C and could definitely go the rest of my days...my 2 young adult children, however, are thrilled. Just want to make sure my house is a beautiful (new kitchen) and comfortable (A/C) for them to come back and visit when they are moved out and on their own!!! SQ

colleenoz, i don't know what to say. But i kinda don't want break up before seeing what's happening. I gave him a warning and told him what i think and he said he agrees with me and he should grow a pair. But i did think what you have just said. Weak character is not a good thing for anything and he is rather weak when it comes to standing up to people. And as you said, sex with an ex is not my concern exactly, but these other things you mention and him saying he doesn't have a control when he does. And i did tell him that and as i said he answered he needs to grow a pair. And he said himself he feels exhausted and fear that he is gonna loose me and his daughter again in a period of few months. I will be honest, for someone for who i am rather sure that loves me...he is not thinking of what he is saying. Talk of 2 and a half hour is an alarm and he called me after that and told me he feels bad about he talked for so long with her. And when it old him not to give out that much of information he told me "as you said...i can't help but talk with her when she talks". That tells me he is either scared of her or didn't get over it. His ex did a lot of crap to him. They had 5 years of on-off relationship which ended up pretty badly. She broke off their engagement over text on Valentines day, she was texting him after break up to let him know she slept with someone else, and later when he would find someone else she would show up at his door to try and win him back. Later on they got a child, she accused him of domestic violence that never happened and put him 5000 pounds into debt cuz he had to go court to see his kid again. So with saying that kind of amount of bad things happen to him caused by her...you are right, he is maybe emotional about her but more in a negative way maybe. But tell me your opinion - you think he is emotionally into his ex? In what way?

How wonderful! I just knew it would work out for you , you are one special guy.

Now everyone do not uncross those fingers and toes, Meredith still has not heard whether she will be hired on full time and her practicum ends this Friday!

I think they are being jerks taking this to the limit but she says it's just the way business works! LOL

April 18th you were given six weeks. April 26th you were unofficially confirmed "hired" by the same company. Nets out to negative five weeks of unemployment. Not bad. Tell me you're getting a raise in the process and I'll be really impressed! Congrats; hope you enjoy the new assignment.

Well this is good news week all the way 'round !

Meredith was offered, and accepted, a 12 month contract with the firm she is doing her practicum with. YEAH!!

This is their standard process, intern for 4 months and if they like you a 1 year contract and if that works well they offer a permanent position.

I'm so happy for her, not bad landing a good job straight out of grad school! Not all young people are that blessed.

Nope, not all young people are that blessed. Ashley did a year long unpaid internship with Spectrum Health and promptly got a part-time-with-no-benefits job with them. They seldom hire anyone full time if they can help it, that way they don't have to pay for things like insurance or paid vacations....

Sorry I've not been back, it's been kind of crazy around here.

I start on the 16th. I'm going to leave my current job on the 6th and go and see Mom for a few days.

I'm also in the process of buying a new car, and Mason has been sick again.

I had him tested for Addison's Disease, which came back negative, which is good, but we're trying to figure out how to solve the ongoing issue of his bouts of intestinal discord.

And, I'm running around trying to reassemble my wardrobe, which took a beating with my being on a bluejeans project for the past 5 years.

Glad to hear about Meredith!
