Some of us were talking about this movie at work yesterday. A bunch of them are planning on going to see it and I told them to watch the iv pumps. We're nurses and maybe that's why I noticed, but when the two men are in the hospital the iv pumps change from scene to scene. They start out with the same pumps we have at our work (hinges/latch are a bluish purple), but in a scene or two later they are totally different, with green hinges, latches. One minute they're turned on, the next off, and they have a second infusion in some scenes but only one bag hanging up on the pole. I guess you'd have to be a nurse to notice but if you watch the movie, take a look at those pumps! I also noticed odd numbers on the rates and totals. Usually iv bags have a whole number: 100 ml, 250, 500, 1000, etc...

I also never noticed an actual iv in the actor's arms. They just kept moving around with those poles. LOL!

I just realized I made a mistake in explaning the "totals" on those bags, the numbers do change, they go down as the infusion goes in, but the amounts were odd. So, I guess the total wouldn't be that odd, but I remember the infusion rates were something like 427 or something not normally seen. I guess they don't think any healthcare people watch movies.

Well, I just checked 3 things off my list: see Stonehenge and visit St. Andrews, Scotland - the Old Course - the birthplace of golf. And a month ago we paid off our mortgage. So I gotta come up with some more stuff!!! Let's see: how about RETIRE. Stay at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. Have a hole-in-one. Visit Vancouver, Washington.

Sunny...many hugs I have completed my "bucket list", so to speak. I have had the privilege to visit all 50 states and high-lights of each state, as well as many parts of Mexico and Canada...which is all I care to do...(I do not do well with long plane rides)...and enjoyed several cruises, etc.. I loved my hot air balloon ride, and parasailing....and hope to do both again some day. I also did two of my DH and my wishes....sold our big home, and built what was to be our "retirement" house, but had to do these by myself. Unfortunately, he died unexpectedly before we got to do them together. One thing he wanted to do was drive the highway to Alaska...but I do not even want to travel by myself, other than short tours. One thing that I "considered" was going for a NASCAR race car ride...but when I saw the molded seats (looked like child's car seats) and have to crawl in through the window because doors are welded shut, I know that desire will have to go....these old joint replacements will not bend that much....oh well.. But people, if you have dreams, please do them while you still have your spouse and both of you have your health.

Jim, At what age did your dad attain before he left for more permanent dwelling? I have outlived my parents, brother, but working on grandparents,, had a uncle that played a round of golf on his 100th birthday. My brother was murdered at the age of 43, so no telling how long he would have lived had that not happened. (Maybe that's why I am so adamant about illegal and unvetted immigration.) I love NOLA as well. Love the architecture and music, and all around ambience of the city. It's funny about NOLA, I can walk for miles, and my feet won't ache, but just let me walk around Costco or Sam's, different story, LOL Sabbath, have you tried designing your own cards? I have greeting card programs that I love to use. One is Greeting Card Factory and the other is Platinum Printmaster. Tobey got me a new Smartphone ( that I need to learn to use )and it takes pretty good photos that I can have fun with using Image pro 9. I've made Calendars as gifts using picture of folks kids and pets, kinfolk, special moments, etc. using my old Samsung digi camera. I haven't done calendars for awhile though. The sky is the limit when you have the right tools. BUT WARNING, It can be so addicting. LOL

We’ve just returned from a trip to Nashville. We were there two years ago for a medical seminar, but spent the majority of time inside the incredible, gorgeous Gaylord Opryland Resort. This time, we rented a house through AirBnB in the Edgehill neighborhood of Nashville. Although we love Country music and very much enjoyed our tour of the Grand Ole Opry, had great meals out, and saw the beautiful surrounding towns of Franklin, etc., overall it was just so congested everywhere! The roads, the entire downtown area, seemed so crowded, just as it was when we were there last. The majority of the homes in the. Nashville area seem to be without garages, which may be fine for the area but as a result, every street ( in both business and residential areas) was lined on both sides with bumper to bumper parked cars. Thank goodness DH can parallel park or we would have been in serious trouble (LOL)! We did end up driving 3 hours to Knoxville one day, which is a lovely city. If we’d had more time we would have loved to have spent some time in Asheville. In retrospect, I’m glad we went, but any future trips to Nashville will be to the Gaylord, with hired drivers dropping us off to see anything.

I thought people employed in the movie industry were paid well enough to avoid this, I thought every scene is scrutinized, and that one or more people were employed to make sure everything is in order. I go on the imbd movie website, and it's fun, there'll usually be a link on the movies to list the 'mistakes' or goofs that were noticed. Some are so big, it's always a good laugh for me. And since you're in the health care industry and work with those things alot, that would stick out like a sore thumb. I've noticed things that are common, coat on in one angle, coat off in the next angle (same scene), the ol' sound boom shadow, hair parted differently, messy then not in the same scene just different shots. Oh well. The industry has to slam them out to keep up with the competition, I guess. Thank goodness you nurses don't work with them standards, eh?

I'm always noticing stuff like that. Hubs and I can be watching a movie or a tv show, and all of a sudden I'll say, "faux pas!"

There is always supposed to be a crew member whose position is designated as "Continuity." This is the person who is supposed to catch this type of thing - and prevent it.

I notice those things, too, it drives me crazy. Holding a blue pen, change angle and it's black. I do see it more often on TV than in big screen movies (or at least notice it). It drives DH crazy that I notice, as it has nothing to do with the plot. He tells me "can't you just pretend with the rest of us?"

like the other day this dude is shot and closes his eyes they go to a right angle shot and the eyes are open...

like the fameous scene in sparticus...think it's a plane or noise from one...it was shot on lot,...(before the valley sprawl, and universal re-do...)
