Oh yes! I've always wanted to go on safari, and to rent a flat for a month in both Paris and London. Having a brand new kitchen was also on my list. Since it was the only realistic one, that's what I did!

Anglophilia- those are wonderful. It has always been my biggest travel dream to go on a safari. I would love to see big cats, and elephants! I spent seven years reading about Africa. I enjoyed learning about all of the countries and their history, and enjoyed reading African memoirs too. Then I got a TV. ...lol that's really the truth and I am not proud of it.

Funny you should mention this. While at the vet yesterday, I talked to a lady who created a bucket list for her dog! I thought that was cool.

Personally I don't have a bucket list. I've done everything I wanted to do in life. (Extreme wise). You will not see Pawprint jumping out of a moving plane, bungee jumping or any other terrifying acts.

Being in the Navy, my thirst for travel was quenched along with the excitement it brought.

Actually, if anything. I'd like to write & complete a book! I've tried 3 times in my life & it's hard to do.

I have no bucket list. I have had a great deal of travels and adventures. I am open to new things though!

I had such a list in my 20s I think that all that I didn't end up doing was skydiving (a friend had a bad first jump and after their concussion I knew that it wasn't for me). If you haven't traveled outside of the US, then I think you should consider it. To keep it easy initially, start with English speaking countries such as Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand or stay in the US and take yourself to Hawaii and enjoy the many differences as well as Volcano National Park.

I don't have a list but there are places I'd like to travel to and things I'd like to try...the way my memory is going I ought to write them down, though LOL!

I just remain open to new experiences. There are a couple of things I meant to do last year that may or may not get done this year. What will be will be. Meanwhile I try to live my life with a spontaneous outlook.

Funny, we are just talking about this on a bicycling list I am on. No, I don't have a bucket list.

I have some wishes... but even those are not on a list. Oh, wait, I have a wish list on Amazon... LOL

I guess, travel outside the USA is not that big of a thing for me... I am not originally from the USA. I have been around a bit, all over the USA on a bicycle, somewhat around in Europe... and my biggest goal for this year is the loop around the Great Lakes.

My biggest wish is to be able to take care of myself for a long long time.

Skibby- I think the fruit of the month club would be awesome! H & D has amazing fruit! We received grapefruit once as a gift from them and loved it!

Practigal- I am going to Japan in March, my Mother-in-law is going and an interpreter so hopefully it will go well. I went to Hawaii as a teen and it was beautiful!

Pawprint- writing a book would be such an adventure. Is it going to be a autobiography?

HB- I have to write everything down too! I forget things so easily.

I've had a lot of things I've wanted to do or learn over the years and have done most of them. I still have wanted to learn to play the guitar. Not sure I'm going to make that happen due to my own busy-ness and not working it into my schedule to make it happen. As for travel, I've been fortunate to travel, both personally and with my job, to a lot of interesting places. DH and I would still like to go to Australia and New Zealand and Spain is on my list. I'll get there.

I've never been to Iceland. There are a few nice sights there. The aurura borealis for instance. I'd like to go to manta madness in Hawaii. There's a hammerhead shark migration I'd like to see. I've never seen a mandarinfish in it's natural habitat. I've never been to Yosemite, Yellowstone, Niagra Falls, Machu Picchu Peru. And many more....

I'd also like to own a vehicle newer than 1996. :0) I'm just not motivated right now. I would like to hear ALL about your trip to Japan....and I hope you make some beautiful...lasting memories.

Outside- my daughter had a friend that would play guitar while I cooked and it was so nice! I liked when he played, "Back in Black" hahaha. Another friend of my children came over and played, "Sweet Home Alabama" I must have had a crazy look on my face because he was so off, his mom called me and laughed and said, "My son knew he was playing it completely wrong by your expression" I didn't mean to look so surprised at his gross mutilation of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Nicole- I would love to own a vehicle that is reliable!!! I drive an old truck that has over 310,000 miles on it that barely runs. I have heard Iceland is really popular amongst adventure seekers, a friend went last year and loved it. My mom got married at Yosemite, it is beautiful. I would love to see the National Parks too! I bought a book on all the National Parks this summer, they look so incredible.

Sabbath, I've started a few novels. But it's hard. The characters go all over the place & it's difficult to make it so the reader understands. They also take on a life of their own, which wasn't how I invisioned them.

Not sure about an autobiography. I have started writing some memories down though.

Kind of like the movie Notebook. Where she wrote their life story but got Alzheimer's. So her husband read to her from that book everyday.

Alzheimers runs in my family & I'm terrified of loosing my memory.

Pawprint- the art of writing a book has always fascinated me. I have always found it to be such a disciplined art. I would love to learn about it in a class or from a book. There are so many nuances to it.

I don't have a real bucket list, but if I did, I guess seeing the Rock Mountains would top it. Tobey promised to take us there this summer. Next would be to completely re-landscape our property, plant some fruit trees, and build a barn to house the RV. Then a re-do with our kitchen. (We have all new appliances, oldest being 3 years old.) Another wish would be to spend a winter in the Florida Keys, snorkeling and fishing. I guess the only other would be a month in a Tuscan villa, sampling cheeses and different wines, learning about local customs and foods and just enjoying life .

I have lived a really full life, traveling here and there, cruised, been outside the country, and have seen a couple of Chuhilly exhibits, went to culinary school just to learn basic cooking techniques, lived in the tropics, learned to scuba dive, sail, and even took flying lessons. I watched my daughter grow into a rebellious teen/young woman, and then mature into a beautiful Godly lady, and now watching my grands do the same thing.

Roseberry- so many of the things that you mentioned resonated with me. As I read my head was moving up and down and I was thinking I so get that especially about the daughter. I have raised a daughter that is feisty, strong willed and assertive. We snorkeled at Bahia Honda state park in the Florida Keys and camped there. We did it two years in a row. The first year we mistakenly camped on Key West.... not a good time imagine a family with two small children amongst a literal fraternity. They had a turntable hooked up to huge speakers in the middle of the night, and in the morning there were passed out college guys laying on a dock with beer cans all over them. Yeah...we left for a fishing camp ground after one day! I also want to attend Culinary school to learn technique. Amazing!

Casey & Roseberry- I love Chuhilly too! We had the opportunity to see his work at the Glass Museum in Tacoma, WA. I love stained glass- so beautiful!

I don't have a list. Travel is difficult for me.... too many animals to take care of. I have been to almost every state except Alaska and Hawaii. And all over Mexico. Except for going back to the Smokey Mountains, I am okay staying home. I would like to do some work on my house, build a new barn and work on my yard. Nothing very exciting. I miss some of the things I used to do...raised fish and water-lilies, and I would like to do that again. I still do but I did it on almost a commercial level (200 varieties of water-lilies) but as a hobby. I can't find the time to keep up that level of enthusiasm any more. Mostly I want to stay active and not give in to old age. People tell me to slow down but I feel the need to speed up.

Marilyn- Wow! The water-lillies sound amazing. If you have pics please share. Did the fish ever swim in the same area as the water-lillies? Everyone here is so INTERESTING! Animals are so wonderful!

Sabbath, we got to see the Chuhilly exhibit at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in Nashville a couple of years ago, It was amazing ! Nashville has lots of amazing cultural venues to enjoy. It's a lot more than just "Music City" There is a smaller Chuhilly exhibit in St, Petersburg, FL as well that we enjoyed.

Roseberry- I lived in Nashville before. Nashville is the best! The people are truly special!! They are so kind, friendly and interesting. I love the Hermitage, the history, so many amazing stories!

Tobey and I met in Nashville. Our first date was to the Ryman and then we spent a couple of days just roaming and seeing the sights. There is so much to do there.

Roseberry- that is so sweet! Are you a native Tennessean? I really love Tennessee, it has the nicest most well mannered and spoken people of any place I have lived.

No, I am native "everywhereian'. I was born in New England, lived in Florida the longest, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Alabama. We actually lived in Franklin, when we lived in Tennessee.

Wow Roseberry you have lived many places! I went to New England for the first time this summer and fell in love with it. I loved Martha's Vinyard with all the Cape Cod style homes, and the boats! I loved going through Cape Cod and explore the history of Boston. It was a dream come true for me. We drove to New York from Boston and took in two Broadway shows. I NEVER thought that dream would come true for me. Idk why but I thought I would never see those areas of the country.

I forgot that I also have always wanted to go on a tour of the Christmas Markets in Europe. Never could find anyone interested, and now my mobility is too limited.

When I say "Bucket List", I mean those things that we all say "Someday I would like to..." I realized that at age 73, I better figure out just when "someday" was as there were going to be fewer and fewer in my future! Thus the new kitchen!

I've never had a bucket list as such, but being a plant person I thought I'd like to visit Australia, New Zealand, the Amazon Basin, the Sino-Himalaya, places like that. Just a dream though.

My priority now though, is to live to see my GGS, whom I have custody of, reach the age of majority, which will be in 8 years.

Probably within reach is a trip west to see the big trees, the coast redwoods and sequoias. Of course the way things are in our country now, I may not have to travel 2,000 miles to see them, I'll just go to the nearest lumber yard (sigh).

I vacationed around within the US as a child. DH and I toured in he UK and the Continent and cruised the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Baltic, and Mediterranean.

I don't even like to see pictures of places I loved *as they are now*. The cities are nearly interchangeable. They've gobbled up the land and the sky.

For instance, evening TV news from NYC closes with an aerial view of Manhattan. I'm waiting for the island to sink under the weight of all those hard-edged skyscrapers. I picture millions of residents in their tiny, expensive apartments -- packed and stacked.

I prefer to remember the character of places I visited as they were then. Most were still built on a human scale. (Paris has done fairly well excluding skyscrapers.) I know, they were even smaller before *I* knew them, but I still don't like their boring uniformity today.

I have enjoyed reading everyone's responses. Thank you all so much. After reading all of the responses I have a clearer vision of some of the items on my bucket list:

Culinary School or classes- I would love to learn technique, it would be great if I could find a vegetarian program.

Abandoned Animal Shelters- I would like to donate time and resources towards this. I recently found a new shelter near my home.

Cards- I want to spend more time writing cards to the people who are special to me.

Reading a book, or taking a class on writing a book. This subject has always fascinated me.

I can't seem to get enough of New Orleans so I would like to go there again....many more times :0 I went five times this year (tagging along with my husband who was there on business) and want to go again, I just love all of the colorful characters, artists, and musicians in New Orleans. The food is amazing and I love the architecture, and walking for miles just taking in the sights.

Living to be as old as my father when he died. That will be in 18 years!

I have never had a bucket list, can't say as there is much I want to do in the way of travel, it just never interests me. I like being with friends and family though. I usually take one day at a time.

Jim, At what age did your dad attain before he left for more permanent dwelling? I have outlived my parents, brother, but working on grandparents,, had a uncle that played a round of golf on his 100th birthday. My brother was murdered at the age of 43, so no telling how long he would have lived had that not happened. (Maybe that's why I am so adamant about illegal and unvetted immigration.)

I love NOLA as well. Love the architecture and music, and all around ambience of the city. It's funny about NOLA, I can walk for miles, and my feet won't ache, but just let me walk around Costco or Sam's, different story, LOL

Sabbath, have you tried designing your own cards? I have greeting card programs that I love to use. One is Greeting Card Factory and the other is Platinum Printmaster. Tobey got me a new Smartphone ( that I need to learn to use )and it takes pretty good photos that I can have fun with using Image pro 9. I've made Calendars as gifts using picture of folks kids and pets, kinfolk, special moments, etc. using my old Samsung digi camera. I haven't done calendars for awhile though. The sky is the limit when you have the right tools. BUT WARNING, It can be so addicting. LOL

The first road-trip adventure that the missus and I took (to see if we could really get along together away from home) was to New Orleans. We have been back a couple of times. Riding the streetcar is soooo much fun.

My father died when he was 89. He lived longer than his father and brother by more than 25 years! He was proud of that. I'll be marking things on my bucket if I live that long. I'll try to do that just so that I can pester the missus for so many more years.
