I am being interviewed for the director's job in the facility where I have worked in a lower capacity for 11 years. During the director's absence I have filled in for her. I am very familiar with the operations of our facility and feel that I have an excellent chance of getting the job. I know that there are 8 other persons interviewing for the job none of which are internal candidates. I'm not sure of their experience or qualifications. My question to you is I know that one of the questions during my interview will likely be "if you do not get the job will you be able to work with the person who does?" I'm not exactly sure what to say in reply. Do you have any suggestions? Also, do any of you have any experience where an internal candidate for a job did not get the job and how they handled the situation?
