Belgian Waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
Over easy egg and extra crispy bacon.
Mmmmmmmmmm........

Not likely to happen, but I might just make my own! LOL

Deanna

Smoked salmon Eggs Benedict. Or Crab Eggs Benedict.

A cup of vanilla chai, seeded rye toast with lots & lots of butter, poached egg, grapefruit sections and assurance that the mess in the kitchen was taken care of !

I am asking for the same breakfast my guys make me every Mothers Day!

They get fresh bagels, slice them into bite sized pieces and serve them with a variety of cream cheese "spreads". Usually there is a garlic/chive, a blue cheese, strawberry, and a veggie. The tray always has a fresh cup of coffee (usually brought in from Dunkin Donuts), a Mimosa, fresh chocolate covered strawberries and a small nosegay of fresh cut flowers. It is always served with lots of hugs and kisses and I usually get company in bed to help me eat my breakfast, and I would not change a thing!

Alexa

Oh dear. Well, first, I have a waterbed, a leftover from my hippie days in the 70s, LOL, and so it's not so comfortable for eating.

Ashley used to always make me breakfast for Mother's Day. Lukewarm tea, warm bread (I can't call it toast because it never changed color, LOL, but it was at least warm from the toaster) and an egg cooked in the microwave for way too long. Can you tell that Ashley didn't like anything hot? I loved it.

Now Elery often cooks breakfast, but he doesn't care for sweets, it's always savory, so my breakfast would have to be gingerbread pancakes with maple syrup or Woodie's Creme Brulee French Toast or coffee cake and some really good coffee.

Annie

5 slices of thick sliced bacon, lemon chiffon pancakes with raspberry sauce, and 2 of wizardnm's and doucanoe's fresh croissants slathered with tons of butter.(Two from each of them of course) And a cafe mocha.
This meal would take all of my weekly points, but a girl can dream can't she? Oh. And a couple Mimosas, followed by a couple Bloody Marys.

I long for the days when I got two squished tiny bouquets of flowers from the garden, weeds and all, stems optional, on my breakfast tray on Mother's Day.
And trying to eat a somewhat burned omelet while two happy kids squirmed and wriggled on the bed. And trying to drink my coffee without spilling it all over.
For now, fresh hot beignets and coffee will do nicely. On lovely china of course!

Someone makes me breakfast? I am trying to imagine hubby and little man bring me a breakfast on Mother's Day morning. It's a scary thought... should I eat it or should I wait until they leave the room then... LOL

Reality, they will never make me breakfast on Mother's Day. I am expected to make breakfast on such a special day! Well, I don't mind. We are going to a hotel in K. Country for a Mother's Day brunch. It's our tradition. So we will have a simple breakfast then go to the hotel where I can truly enjoy a meal prepared by professional. I am saving my appetite for cheesecakes! :-0

Yum!!

I'm going to have breakfast with sheshebop.

I would love an everything bagel toasted, with cream cheese, lox, red onion, tomato on it, a nice cup of hot dunkin donuts coffee with cream & splenda and a Bloody Mary.

My guys dont cook so I think they might be able to manage this breakfast. Together, they could probably figure out how to work the toaster.

I don't have kids except the four legged furry kind. And I've noticed they have a tendency to think only of their own needs:) But I love them anyway.

This year in February my 73 year old Mom had a health scare and was in ICU for a week. So I am spending the weekend at home with her and we could have mushy raisin bran and it would not diminish the day one iota. However I think the plan is to make a big breakfast for our immediate family and dine on the patio that morning with good company and many mimosa's. Looking forward to it.

Kate

It's just me now, I'll probably have the kids over for brunch - it's a pleasure to cook for them now and it's a fun time.

But............my dream breakfast would be fresh squeezed OJ, good coffee, two fresh eggs over easy, served on top of a slice of fresh homemade toast and applewood smoked bacon. Guess I'll have to make it for myself.

Another here with the four legged furry kid. And you are so right, he would eat my breakfast before it got to me!

Kate, I hope your Mom is doing fine now. We'll probably take ours out for breakfast, at least I hope so. I think she enjoys that as much as anything since she still has to cook breakfast for my dad after all these years. Not sure if I can convince my brother.. He's one of those 5:30 a.m. people and Mom and Dad are more like 9:30 nowadays. If he could just think of it as brunch!

Everyone's ideas sound so good - it would be a hard choice!

Beth

Thank you Beth for your good wishes. She is MUCH better now. The experience also made me really take stock of how much time we have left together so in that way it was useful.

I am one of those 5:30 a.m. people also:) I have learned to eat a small breakfast at my usual time, then have breakfast with my family when they're ready and just adjust my diet for the remainder of the day when I am home visiting. . Makes my parents happy to eat breakfast with them so its worth adjusting my schedule for.

Kate

Kate, you are so right, it's definitely worth adjusting schedules to spend time with our parents. I'm glad I did while Dad was still alive, and now I've been trying to make more time for Mother.

I'm glad your Mom is doing well, give her a hug for me and enjoy your Mother's Day with her.

Annie

Annie that's good to hear you are getting quality time with your Mom. Not to hijack this thread any further but since my Mom has been out of the hospital I've noticed that she has had more of a carpe diem attitude also. It's great to see.

I'll definitely deliver that hug and thank your good heartedness.

Kate

My Mom always requests Woodies creme brulee french toast. If I had kids I would probably ask for the same thing.

My dream would be that they would all go out somewhere, with the dog, and leave me with the remote and a pitcher of mimosas.

Deanna's breakfast sounds perfect to me -- Belgian waffles with fresh strawberries and real whipped cream. I'd want a nice mug of really good hot dark coffee, and refills nearby. Bacon, for sure and fresh squeezed oj.

To go with it, the Sunday paper and a nice sharp pencil to do the puzzles. Ahhh!

Think I'll copy and paste this into an email to my son!

Oh yeah, dedtired, now I want to add the paper and the crossword puzzle, along with enough time to have a second cup of coffee and actually DO the puzzles....

Annie

My best Mom's Day breakfast in bed was a belgin waffle with hot Maine maple syrup, eggs benedict, homemade sausage links, a mimosa and butter toffee flavored cup of coffee with half and half. My daughters were in bed enjoying the food with me. Made for a very, very happy start to the day! NancyLouise

We're camping at a music festival for Mother's Day again this year. My dream breakfast would be eaten in a restaurant with the other moms while our families take down the tents and load the cars.
