My city has a float this year. Mission Viejo. It is the float with the swimming pool on it. I know 2 people on it and can't wait to see it!

I'm from Wisconsin, believe me it was coooold. We got there at 6AM and the parade didn't start til eight, there was no where to buy coffee or hot chocolate unless you were in the VIP section by HGTV and all the other media. So I was freezing, and I dressed in layers with gloves. Wish I had my down coat, but then would have been too hot for the game. There were two floats that actually had me tear up. The first was the Mustang float. There were two young veteran amputees dressed in camo on it. I think they were both missing their left arms. Very moving. The other was the 9/11 float. It was very cool when the Wisconsin band high stepped by. We were up on our feet screaming, and DS said he saw me. They marched 6 miles and we saw them at the beginning, so they still had a lot of pep.

Aww, thanks Lydia. I think we're the same age if 1959 in your name means year you were born. Pammy, his plans are to stay in Madison until August since he didn't get a sub-letter for his apartment and then move to Germany to submerse himself in the culture (German studies grad). Georgysmom, I heard that's what happened with the tv coverage of both the Stanford and Wisconsin bands. That's too bad for all their friends and family wanting to see them. If you you tube "Wisconsin Rose bowl halftime show" there is a 2 minute clip with another great shot of Ted. The only reason I know that is that it was all over facebook--even one of his high school band teachers commented on seeing him, lol.

Happy Anniversary Mary C.,Thats a special way to start any new year. We celebrated our 59th. in Dec. so appreciate how special it is. Happy New Year to all! We started the New Year with the Rose Bowl parade, working on my hand quilting while we watched. One of my Christmas gifts was a REALLY bad cold, so wasn't up to doing very much. I guess I am one of the few that keep my Christmas decorations up until Jan.6th. so wont be taking them down until then. Too, cold an blustery to do much outside. Today I planned out my first BA block, maybe I shouldn't call it that as it isn't the traditional theme but they will be hand appliqued. Trying to expand my applique this year. Jayne
