I had to laugh at the spectators all bundled up like it was cold. You would think they were in the Midwest. I watched on HGTV also.

I live in SoCal and never watch the parade I know people live for it but I do not care for it~~~we went once the day after and got to view all of the floats that was very fun I would do that again. Each of my kids have gone once and viewed and said they would never again way too crowded and cold~~DH being a peaceofficer for LACounty worked the parade for many years for OT he says it is nice but also butt cold and crowded.

We watched the parade on TV, as usual, and enjoyed it very much. Loved the flowers, horses, surfer dogs, bands, etc.

I've never seen it in person, even though I live locally. Maybe I'll put that on my bucket list.

A friend of mine helps decorate the floats, and those crews worked diligently for several days this past week. Another friend went to see today's parade, and I'm looking forward to hearing her report.

I know it's sunny here today, but believe me it is rather cold to be in some of the skimpier outfits that were worn.

I'm not a parade erson, But I like to take a peek
at the floats every now and then. I would LIKE to
go look at the floats... just not the whole danged
parade. The horses and bands are amazing!
But I've never enjoyed parades. This one is okay,
because you can get up; changes stations, and
just check in once or twice!

In the 50s, our Uncle Howard was the state manager at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. We attended the crowning of the Parade Queen and princesses then saw the creations of the floats, then the parade. It was so cold that the queen and princesses word Long Johns. After seeing it in "real", it's been disappointing to watch on TV, but I do love the marching bands.

I noticed today that the commentators didn't have much to say about what types of flowers/greenery was used on the floats. That was always so fascinating in the past.

Oh,no, I missed it. Totally forgot about it, but from ya'lls comments I didn't miss much.

I go every year. It has been cold in So. CA, but at least it didn't rain and the sun was out. I liked the guy riding the steer and the colorful Mexican band.

I used to like to watch the Rose parade back when they gave detailed info about the floats and concentrated on the bands and floats now it seem to be just another ego trip for personalities I'm tired of reality shows and egos

I'm from Wisconsin, believe me it was coooold. We got there at 6AM and the parade didn't start til eight, there was no where to buy coffee or hot chocolate unless you were in the VIP section by HGTV and all the other media. So I was freezing, and I dressed in layers with gloves. Wish I had my down coat, but then would have been too hot for the game.

There were two floats that actually had me tear up. The first was the Mustang float. There were two young veteran amputees dressed in camo on it. I think they were both missing their left arms. Very moving. The other was the 9/11 float.

It was very cool when the Wisconsin band high stepped by. We were up on our feet screaming, and DS said he saw me. They marched 6 miles and we saw them at the beginning, so they still had a lot of pep.
