Good Moring Everyone! Happy Friday to you all~

Today I'm working until 5:30 pm and then my friend is picking me up and we're off for a camping weekend!! There are several of us ladies going. Should be a really fun time.

Good morning Shaun, Hope you have a good time with the camping trip.

Today's plans include cleaning up all the glass from the pictures falling off the walls from the earthquake. Then I need to replace the glass for them. Saturday is supposed to be raining here again, so hopefully I will get the rest of the spring cleaning done. Saturday evening will be spent will a few good friends coming over for dinner. Sunday will be yard work hopefully.

Will be clinking with my diet Pepsi later.

Beautiful weather here so we intend to spend as much time in the yard as possible. Tomorrow we are BBQ'ing with friends, Sunday more yard work. The warmth feels so good!

TGIF here too. Elery is on his way up for the weekend and he's bringing supper, that's a good thing. Tomorrow we're going out to visit my mother and I'm taking Amanda and the kids with me. Check up on the "old people", aka Dad and Stepmom, and do the regular chores then because Elery wants to go to church on Sunday. He wants to meet my pastor, he's shopping for someone to marry us, LOL. I keep telling him not to rush me.... Lori, no one notices those 10 hour days I put in either, but they sure sit up and mention it when I'm half an hour late because I have a dentist appointment or something, sheesh. They don't manage to add up those late days either, to find out that I worked 60 hours and got paid for 40, they just notice that half an hour. And have I mentioned that I just hate the media anyway? chase, I hope that septic problem is quick and cheap, this time of year, with all that snow, it's going to be a PIA, plus stinky. Ick. Terri, no Trader Joe's? Well, OK, I guess a new couch should make up for it. Michelle, we had 14 inches of snow here too, some is going to have to melt before we have room for any more! The rivers are already high here, it's so cold that the water doesn't soak into the frozen ground and we've already had flood warnings. In February! Yes, if we get a thaw, it'll be exciting all right. duane, I'm glad business is good. I think. (grin) Fish and chips do sound good, though. Annie

TGIF my eye! It's been an unusually busy week and I'm running out of time. What's left to do? Youngest graduates from college Sunday, so I have to at least give the house a lick and a promise, shop and prepare food for Sunday's gathering; mow the lawn - I have lists within lists! It's only going to be the rest of our kids and their families, but that is 18 people in all, and some of them will spend Sat. night here. Let me brag a bit here. We are six for six in the college grad dept., and four have their masters. The fifth says she's done with school except for craft classes, and Sunday's grad (magna cum laude!) is going to loaf for a year before grad school. Our buttons are bursting, I can tell you that. Back to my list: I'm sewing a dress for #5 to wear to a wedding next weekend, but I've hit a snag and can't get back to sewing until Monday, so I'm worrying about that project. I know it'll get done and she'll be beautiful, but I wish I had gotten it done already. Our ancient cat seems to be sick and is throwing up all over the place, so hubby said he'll take cat to the vet today. The gardens are getting overrun because I've been too busy to get back to them, and it looks like they may have to wait another week. Hub can't mow the lawn (heart dr said so; I think they are in cahoots!) so I have to do that today. And things are breaking down, too. The garage door spring broke Monday; the dishwasher door lock keeps getting stuck with dishes inside; I just got a recall notice for my car; the "a" key on my keyboard sticks so I have to keep going back to retype "a"; those are the little things - my list of big things is huge! OK. I just needed to rant a bit on your beautiful parade! Now it's back to the salt mines for me. I promise to take many opportunities to enjoy my spring gardens while I'm wearing myself out today, and I know hub will make me laugh a lot. We celebrated 40 years on Mother's Day, and I must say it's been great. Sherry

Linda, congratulations on the "pre-exam"! I got my Property/Casualty License in CO & remember stressing over the tests. Relax...you'll do great! Congrats to Erin, as well! What a wonderful Mother's Day present...can't do better than watching a child graduate! Enjoy the perennial sale. Annie, WOW! Your first anniversary already...I'm going to go back & look at the pixs again. It was a wonderful wedding & Annie, I'm so glad your Dad lived to see the smile on your face that day. Enjoy the Elvis concert. What a hoot. I think it's a fun present! Judy, another graduation! Congratulations to both your son & his finance. My DDIL also has her degree in music. She's a very cultured SAHM...rofl. Actually, DDIL's done something fun with her degree (if not profitable!)...she teaches a community music class to pre-schoolers. She's a pianist but since the third child was born she's not playing as frequently. :( I love listening to her play. We're going on our annual Mother's Day excursion to Newbury Perennials followed by lunch in Newburyport tomorrow. This will be our 9th year. This will be my first Mother's Day without any of the kids coming for a visit. Jobs have scattered our little family. BUT, our oldest daughter's DH is a diver on the oil rigs in the Gulf. They live in Houston & he ships out of LA. He's not been getting as much work & has just accepted an assignment in Norfolk for the next four months. After that, it seems likely he'll be offered a permanent job diving either in Norfolk or in Boston. We're trying not to get too excited but it sure would be great having them closer! Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers. And, for Heaven's Sake, let's hope the rain finally stops! My white garden fence has turned almost totally green this week...enough already! /tricia

Stick to your guns Susie. I can feel your tension and hope you take good care of yourself. You will never be there for mom if you don't attend to your needs first. Being healthy and strong allows you to give more with less effort. Sounds like your mom is throwing a guilt trip at you so shrug it off. So hard when you want to help someone and they turn good intentions against you. Moms good luck with all those children... hope the sicky ones recover, those to be come healthy, and those that hope find their dreams. I didn't post yesterday as I was on the road for hours. My alma matter had invited me to attend a lunch/lecture/ and what was probably a wake. A dear departed "sociological technologist" was appreciated with a presentation of his final study given by one of his associates. Lunch was steak strips with a fancy peppery sauce. My table was joined by three beautiful current students happy to enjoy a free lunch. I couldn't hear those across the table from me but the young lady next to me was excited about pursuing a career in enviromental law. We had an alumni at the table currently working in that field so the talk was hot and heavy about what law school might be a good choice. The study was presented after lunch and was about the Internet habits of young people. It looked at the integration of technology into the social lives of high school students... facebook, my space, and creative outlets. Later we met in a quiet room of mostly faculty and memories of the late 60's and 70's and the school's founding were shared by those who were at the scene of the crime. Then we got down to business with cocktails and a connection time. I was a bit of an oddity because most students are fairly wealthy and go on to graduate programs and fancy careers. The college has some intest in using me as an example of what can be done with a liberal arts education without law school. They like that I was able to reinvent myself over and over to meet the challenges of my life. For awhile I sat with the Dean and drunkenly bent his ear about skills I've found critical but aquired after school. I stopped for a burger at a the Harrison Roadhouse which is just off campus and sobered up for the long drive home. For me drunk is about three drinks these days so an hour and food was plenty to get me on my way. I so needed that touching back with a place and people that gave me my adult life. Back to work today. A pocket full of business cards and head full of projects. : ) lyra

Sharon, YES!!!! Nice to finally get outside.

There's not any plans here...yet. I think we are going out tonight. The weekend should be pretty quiet, yardwork and I'm going to continue painting woodwork if I can't be outside. Need to paint the garage doors too...and the list keeps growing.

I'll fit in a little *clink* or two!

TGIF in deed...
You guys make me laugh with all your frogs and after my up and down day so far, I needed it.

Long and short of it is that people never change...someone emailed (cc'd me) with a snide remark about 13yo DS. I want to put my hand throught the computer and slap the guy..arrggghhh. That is the down side...maybe I should hope his games get invaded by frogs .. wouldn't torcher poor little frogs to him.

On the upside - DD left yesterday for a 10 day school trip through Amsterdam, Belguim, and then 5 of the days with exchange families in Germany. Band/Choir performances there. Really happy she called me this morning so I know she is ok!!!! : )

For me it will be like rest, doing yardwork tomorrow because it will be in 70's in CT and house work Sunday becase it will cool down.

Looking forward to tinking tonight to everyone tonight and cursing that other moron.

OK, yes I am tired of winter...and it's supposed to snow again this weekend.

This week has been one big sigh of relief. My problem child at work decided it was in her best interest to resign her position (think she knew what was coming next). One of my ex-employees has moved back to town and says she will work as a temp until we decide on what positions we will offer. Hopefully she will just stay on so I don't have to advertise. Ugh.

Today is housecleaning day since I can't get out and work in the yard. Tomorrow's an easy day at work and no plans on Sunday. If it's snowing we may just hunker down and bake (although I'm sure the kid will try and talk me into a trip to the mall).

You're going camping! Yeah! The new little spring ticks will have a banquet! LOL

I saw about the earthquake this morning on the news! Wow! I'd heard that the midwest is an earthquake zone, but always that would happen in another million years from now.

Frogs legs schmrog legs! Yuck! The mere thought of eating a frog just gives me the jimmies.

Isn't it amazing what people will say online or in an email that they'd never say in public to be heard, or to your face?? Seems to me nasty emails have more to do with the sender's lack of character than whatever or whoever they are giving a piece of the dark side of their mind. Somehow they feel empowered and righteous. Make a copy of the email and later, use it to show the harrassment or whatever to you, to your DS, and to whatever event is happening that caused it to be sent.

We are having company arrive sometime around one to two today. We haven't seen each other in 5 years and I can hardly wait! We've been friends for about 45 years, since we were in school!

So, our weekend will be spent gabbing away, going out to eat much of the time, and having a completely wonderful weekend!

I made a lemon cake this morning and thank the Lord, it turned out beautiful!

Oh is so good to make ICED TEA!!!

I decided that I needed a Susie Day-you know a day to do whatever I want. Its been a bad week. I didn't mention it earlier cuz I feel like such a debby downer but DS had yet another gran maul at school the other day. Same class too...that teacher must be beside himself!
I was home so I met him at the hospital. Poor kid had the ambulance ride by himself this time.
I don't want to dwell on it...I know you guys wish him/us well....I can feel the good vibes as well as the prayers.
WE'll be fine.

SO I went to the gym and did a full workout! I never have time for that!! Then I went and picked out some bimbo nail polish and gave myself a pedicure. Gotta be sandle ready!!

Then I picked up the phone and called an old pal and we talked for over an hour! Great to just have time to catch up!

This afternoon I will drive over to NJ to go to the Vanity Fair outlet. I lost weight so I need some new togs!! Plus the gas is SO much cheaper in NJ!! LOL!!

Tonight after a quick stop to visit DB, Frank and I are gonna try "chipolte" which just opened near the nursing home. I don't know much about it other than its a lot like Baja Fresh which we enjoy.

Tomorrow will be my garden day...supposed to get cooler so I may or may not get some flowers.
Sunday I am going to AC!!

Tonight and Sunday will be ping pong lessons and practice. I need to take Odo's old baby play pen to my girlfriend - her mom just got a 2-month old shitzu. Saturday I need to make a Costco run, go to the bank and get the car washed. Maybe the dog park, which means a bath for Odo afterwards. He needs his nails clipped too.

Just an ordinary weekend for me. CLINK everyone!!!

You can guess that my weekend is going to be one combining joy and relief along with aerobic cooking in that I am 3 days behind because of Arthur's medical ordeal.

Anyway, with the clock ticking, I want to wish all of my CF friends a wonderful weekend and to my fellow Jews, all the blessings associated with Passover. May the holiday it be filled with family and joy. Dayanu!

Update for you all then I am off to do some major clinking :)

I reread the email that he "sent" to the other guy, when in reality he sent it to me by accident. I thought I was cc'd on it. NOPE he must have hit reply instead of forward. So I kindly directed it the correct person and said I don't think my eyes were suppose to see what he wrote about my son since he never liked him. The ump coordinator is a heck of a nice guy and said that DS is always welcome to coach. :)

Heard from DD and she is alive and well. Toured a dutch shoe factory and enjoyed lunch at Hard Rock. Parents are emailing telling everyone when we hear from kids, all the girls are talking about the wooden shoes, boys haven't called home yet. One woman just wrote me that her son is probably looking at the girls instead of shoes...better keep his eyes off my daughter... :)
