I had thought of adding a washcloth bunny head ,have seen a few wreaths with the bunnies, and they are cute! also you could fill the holes with some kind of small flowers, just a few ideas to pass on. please post photos of your wreath chickencollecter and anyone else who makes one, love seeing them. I already posted, but really, the age or address of one's children makes no difference--at least not to me! Mine is 32 and has been out of the house for 6 years. It's just not Easter for me without Easter Eggs. As to colors--I used some of the paste (for the unusual colors like lavener and peach) and some of the regular food coloring for the pink, yellow and blue. You don't need expensive egg dying kits--they're just regular food coloring like you buy to tint frosting, etc, but they cost many, many times more. To keep fingers cleaner? Use your slotted spoon for dipping. Keep a glass of water handy to dip the spoon when changing colors. I put my cups of colors on an old jelly roll pan lined with several layers of paper towels. That saves drips of dye on my counter or table, and you can put the dyed eggs right on the paper towels to dry. If by any chance an egg or two crack during the cooking process? I dye them yellow--that way you don't notice an odd shade running through your egg salad. Guess these tips are a little late for this year, but maybe they'll help for next.

Well I think I may be in the minority here but I've never exactly viewed an egg hunt as a competition. My community has a set amount of eggs and based on the number of kids, they get a set amount of eggs. That seems much more fair. The little kids get stuff and the big kids get to enjoy it too. I will say though that not all prizes in the eggs were of the same value and I suppose that's where the competition might have come from. I know this community started doing this years ago when most kids would go home with nothing and the kids with help from their parents got everything. Now that just doesn't seem fair.

WOW! What a great project! I too love eggs at easter time! EVERYBODY gets eggs cuz I just love dipping them!!lol! 8", nice size, and I like the way the pink is showing thru the tiles, I bet the grout looks waaaay better in person. Nice job! I'm glad you can do little projects, I think it is so theraputic!
