This just grosses me out, looks like some frothy fungal growth
Comments (11)cactus, lol. I'm not drawn to those kinds of movies, but did like the Birds way back when. I have enough blobby stuff to deal with, remember my first encounter with a jellyfish, thought they were cool, none "bonded with me". buford, I knew just what I was going to see heh. Stinkhorn. Only once in the almost 40 years I've lived here have I had that, and it is gross, too. Yours is especially gross, they seem to vary. Mine was more slender and erectile, but I'm usually curious about anomalies in nature. Oh yes, the owls. Well I was relieved I had just the one encounter this year. They are adorable, quite docile when they get used to you, and a worry. One ornery one got in the street last year. It was like a circus around here for a few days, lotsa photos, it's pitiful watching them maintain a vigil in a bush where you have put them to keep them off the ground waiting for their parents to come, and the wildlife people won't let you feed them. I just love the sound of them, usually at night. We have a lot, barred owls, not on the endangered species list. This isn't the one I won on but is a nice closeup, was down on my stomach to get it, the one I won on is offloaded to my external hd. Have won quite a bit now, one on a baby chickadee, had never seen a baby one in my life. Right now one of my pelican shots is in a new magazine. I need to get back to photography, this gardening has me flumoxxed right now, trying to do too much....See MoreGross shower (grout, caulk), where to begin...
Comments (6)I agree that it sounds like you need to rip out & start over, but for a temporary fix...Use a razor to remove the caulk. Spray down with Tilex or other bathroom cleaner made for mold/mildew. Bleach in this case is not a bad thing--you will need it to kill what is growing now or it will simply come right back. Follow the directions on the bottle to the 'T'. Once everything is nice & white again, rinse it down, squeegee the surfaces including the floor & allow the shower to dry at least 24 hours. Then recaulk with a silicone based caulk that is waterproof. Wait another 24 hours before using the shower. Sealing the grout may help. Another tip is to use a squeegee on the tile (both walls and floor) after every shower--standing water is the medium that allows the mold/mildew to grow. Leave the shower door/curtain open to allow the shower surfaces to fully dry after each shower. Good luck to you!!...See Morehot tub
Comments (3)5 person at least. Try to wet test whichever model you buy. Also, I know the lounges look inviting and are comfy when you're looking at a dry tub but know that when it's full of water, you can't hold the recline position because your body floats. The only people who use our hot tub are me, my hubs and our son. I'm kind of squicky about that, too. LOL Our waterfall is a waste of money. Never use it. They tried to talk us into a sound system, but no. We have the Hot Springs Grandee. It's big but we're tall so we needed a deep tub that would go up to our necks when seated. That's important. Make sure you'll be submerged up to your chin!...See MoreNot so different!!!
Comments (10)So true!!! (I think people get hung up on 'step' and take it personally because it's a step... parent or kid, when the truth is that proper conduct is proper conduct) I can only imagine how wonderful it would be if my SD's mom would talk that way to her daughter. "mommy, SM won't let me watch R rated movies"... "well, you are only 10 and you're too young to watch that sort of thing" (instead of letting her watch anything she wants because mean daddy & SM said no) "mommy, SM gave me oatmeal and I don't like oatmeal"... "well, oatmeal is good for you, but did you tell daddy or SM you don't like oatmeal? How are they supposed to know if you don't tell them? (instead of trying to start a fight in front of SD with SM because SM is abusing SD by making her eat oatmeal) "mommy, they make me go to bed early & I never get to have any fun."... "well, you need your rest so you can do well in school." (instead of saying 'poor baby, they are so mean' and letting her stay up as late as she wants and do anything she wants that she thinks is fun... even if it's dangerous) Yeah, that's just a fantasy I know. But pseudo, you're a good mom and I've had that same talk with my son when he was that age. He's 20 now & much better (gets along better with my husband) but he tried the 'you would let me .... ' and no, I wouldn't. What is it with boys and the toilet??? (being gross... both my son's did gross stuff too!)...See Morejerzeegirl
