Did you see Lie to Me last night?

A new tv show... I thought it was pretty good. They can improve some but being that it was the first one, it was good. I've always liked "reading" people's body language myself! Watcha all think?

We watched it and enjoyed it. But I think it's much like Mentalist, which is another new show we like. I think they are probably too similar for both to survive. Patrick, in the Mentalist, is so adorable, I hope that one makes it.

I intended to watch it when it came on, but forgot to notice when that was. I hope I remember next week.

Dale I would never be able to describe the exact location of where these morels were found. They were on private property, and I was invited by the owner, or I never would have found it by myself. Now, since she has moved, I'd probably have to trespass or get the new owner's permission. Anyways, you should be happy to know they are to be found in many locations in Oklahoma. Keep tabs on this link, and you should be able to zero in on a good location. I think there's another morel link for Oklahoma as well as this one online. You won't be disappointed if you luck onto a good morel spot. As you will see in the pics in this link, even the homeies love them, lol! Just wait til about April and about four days after a rain. Look for a moist woodland, where some deer and cows have roamed, and there are many such places in Oklahoma. I LOVE morels just about any way you can prepare them. And especially morel soup, or perhaps cut up in small pieces for tempura. A real delicacy. I've been thinking of starting my own little shitake patch. You can buy the spores of those online and perhaps other varieties as well. Dawn I can relate to the harvesting, canning and preserving fatigue. Getting kind of tired of it myself, so when dinner time rolls around and it's just me, it's catch as catch can from the garden. I really do hate to see the summer crops dwindling. Okra not bearing well. The cucumbers that store boughts will NEVER be able to rival are just about kaput. I still have tons of BIG tomatos that haven't ripened yet. Since it's been dry, with no recent rain, I've been allowing them to store up all that deliciousness and not get soggy or insipidly flavorless, so they have been amazing! Especially enjoying the Indian Stipes, which were not new to you, but certainly a delightful first for me. I'm hoping I don't get stuck with having to can jars of pickled tomatos or green tomato relish. I like it, but there's only so much of it I can eat. Today's menu was simply one of my baked buttercup squash, (just the right size for me), with butter and brown sugar, and cooked to pieces pole beans. Since I don't have a family to cook for, sometimes I kind of 'batch' and my folks used to call it. Nice in a way, since I can eat weird stuff that I like, when I like and not have to worry about meal planning per se. Barbara Here is a link that might be useful: Morels of Oklahoma

Hi Kids, I thought it was a good show last night. I was sad to see Dad and Son go. They did a good job of keeping it together and almost made it at the end. They were a good team, always nice to each other and respectful. I wish it had been a non-elim leg, but that was not the case. What was up with the Brothers? Why did they finish so far ahead of the other teams? Was it just beacuse they followed the cab? I would have been surprised if they had not gotten the penalties or at least one. Hiding the pump was a dirty trick, but did the other teams even know there was sapose to be a pump there? I think I missed that. Asking the cab driver to show them the way was a dumb move. Another case of a team not reading the directions? It was nice to Thailand again and Homemade is correct...the heat is unlike anything we have here. It's not just the high temps, but it's also the high humidity as well as the sun. Being closer to the equator, the sun is strong and hot. You need gills to breathe. Next week in Bangkok, away from the ocean, will be ever worse. I've been dehydrated in Bangkok. It's not fun and it happens fast. You need to drink lots and lots of water. It will be interesting to see how they handle the traffic and the smells of the city. Flamiey...you are right about the two girls and that poor man with all the drawers. They were so rude. No need to yell at the poor guy. Did you notice his wife...standing at the end of the counter...laughing at them? We're getting down to the last few teams...who will make it to the end? It's a good one... sooey

Gosh, lets see if I remember this. The sisters got to the mat just ahead of Victor & Tammy. But, sisters could not be checked in because they did not have their travel documents. They had to go back to the boat yard, get their stuff then, back to the finish mat. Michael & Mark decided to go back for their back packs before they did the challange. They used most of their money on the taxi back to the boat yard and then back to the location of the challange. They got to the challange, finished it and headed to the Temple where the finish mat was. They did not have enough money to pay the full taxi fare so they gave some of their own personal 'stuff' to the taxi driver as payment. They got to the mat before the sisters returned but, got the time penalty, 4 hours?, because they used there own stuff as payment. The sisters got back to the mat, were checked in as the 4th team to arrive, no other penality. Michael & Mark were then checked in as the last team to arrive but, it was an non elimination leg of the race. The catch is, on the next leg of the race they will have extra stuff to accomplish. Plus, there was time left on their penality after the girls returned, that time, about 30 minutes (?) will be added to their start time. They will start the next leg of the race last, plus what ever was left on their penality. OK, Kids...did I get that right? sooey

We waste more than I like, but we do try hard not to. Any fruit or veggies we don't eat, I either feed to the chickens or feed to the compost pile, so something eats it. I didn't see the TV special you mentioned, but I read an article a while back about how many gallons of water it takes over a season in California to produce different kinds of fruits, veggies and nuts and it was astonishing. One thing that I've noticed is that we are more prone to waste purchased produce than to waste anything raised here at home into which we have invested our own blood, sweat and tears. Loretta, I don't water unless I have to, and even in drought I am stingy with watering. With two large garden plots and several smaller ones, watering is expensive even when done sparingly. Long ago, I let any ornamental plants that were water hogs just die. It was hard to let some of them go, but I wanted a landscape where watering would be minimal. So far this year, the only watering I've done in the garden was to hand water, with a watering can, to settle in the soil around new transplants. We've been very fortunate to have had plentiful rainfall every month since last June except for a brief period in part of August and part of September. Despite that, the Drought Monitor still has us classified as Abnormally Dry, which I guess shows that we are only wet on the surface and still dry down deeper. I suppose we'd be in the same type of drought and water restrictions y'all have if all that rain hadn't fallen since June. We've been in one stage of drought or another for so long that I think I have forgotten what it is like to get normal rainfall. When we get normal rainfall, I feel like we are flooded with water. When we get above-average rainfall, I worry the plants will drown and die, which is rare here, but it happened in 2007. I hope y'all get enough rainfall there this year to replenish the reservoirs and get your water restrictions eased. I doubt one year's rainfall would do it, but if it would rain consistently there all year at least you'd start seeing some improvement. At this time last year Lake Texoma was 8 or 9 ' below normal and now it is 100% full at the conservation pool level, so there's always hope.

We started watching it but were surfing the channels and stopped on a movie instead. It was "Untraceable". Have you seen it? It was good but kinda gross.

I love the Mentalist. I even let my (teen and almost teen) boys watch it and I am pretty strict with what they watch. They love that show. I doubt they will be able to watch "Lie to Me".

I watched it, but wondered how the photos of the dead teacher were already printed out. Wouldn't the police have taken his camera when they caught him at the scene? I can't resolve that in my mind. Other than that, I liked it. Did you notice that his female partner's husband (who lied to her about why he was late) once played a horrific murderer in a Law & Order episode. He killed his girlfriend, her daughter, and the husband and wife employers of the girlfriend. I'm going to have a hard time getting past that character.

I started to watch it, but switched to Criminal Minds after about 15 minutes. Enough already of the facial twitches. I didn't care for the lead actor either. I really enjoy

We surfed past it and recorded the last 2/3 of it. I enjoyed it and will Tivo the series. It is on Fox.

Made me want to get BOTOX injections so my face won't move and give me away. LOL

I had to wonder if Brian 'Kato' Kaelin and the other faces used, get royalties from the show.

I really enjoyed the show. I took a course in college on body language and I learned a lot. When my nieces were young - preteens and young teenagers and were still with me I warned them I would always catch them if they lied to me and boy they were always surprised when I did.

jodi- I thought the same thing. Did they have to get special permission to use their faces? I'm sure they did but I also wondered about royalties.

Same thoughts on the Botox!! After I watched the show I had a hard time trying looking at the TV - I was reading everyone's expressions!!
