Can't believe no one has started this thread yet! I slept in this morning! LOL

Off today after three 10 hour days in a row. I reduced my hours in the radilogy department and took a part-time casual position as a surgery scheduler. They work 10 hour days there, so when I pick up a shift I will too! Lots to learn, but I think it will be a fun challenge and the people are a hoot to work with.

Have errands to run today and a wedding reception to attend tonight.

The weather is finally turning spring-like. Tim has seen Robins and Bluebirds, and we have caught a whiff of skunk, too, so spring is here! YAY, after that long, cold winter!

Tomorrow a girlfriend and I are spending a good part of the day at a spring garden event. The have classes on various garden topics and a vendor area withall kinds of garden-related goods for sale.

Sunday I hope to start sanding and painting a metal dining set my sister gave me. It is green with a glass top table. I am going to paint it a brown/black, reupholster the chair seats and put it in my dining room. I think the glass top table will make the DR look larger. If I don't like it, I am only out some paint and fabric.

Hope to grill some salmon and steak on Sunday too.

Lucky you Linda for being able to sleep in. Good luck with the weekend painting project.

I was up at 5:00 as usual. Waiting for plumbers to come at 7:30 to fix the problems they have created this week. It is their 4th trip here. Can you tell I am not a happy camper. LOL

Still dealing with the oldest puppy being in heat. This is day 20 and I am tired of making doggie diapers. Tomorrow we have to go car shopping. Not looking forward to that at all. Sunday is supposed to be raining again, so am hoping for a quiet peaceful day. I know it won't happen, but I can always hope.

Linda #1, sounds like a pretty busy weekend for you. I hope the table turns out, projects like that are sure fun. I've seen some robins but no bluebirds here yet. This has sure been a winter from %@$#.

Linda #2, you get those plumbers straightened out and make sure they do it right.... definitely not fun.

May do a little shopping and go out for dinner tomorrow but that is the only plan so far here. I'm dreaming about being able to work outside in my flower bed but I'm afraid that's a long way off still.

Lori I'm rooting for the Pats just for you. But I gotta tell ya I hate watching basketball. Sharon we saw that production here in LA. John Boy is no Peter Fonda, but it was still pretty good! I'd also recommend seeing if you can get a social worker to help convince her. Good luck. I tried to get out of it by scheduling his teeth (two of 'em) extraction for that afternoon. It didn't work, he came home, got over it, and said 'get dressed mom, we're going dancing'. Dang (for those who don't know me yet, thats why they call me 'Evil Jessy'). Sent the rest of the family out for dinner. Today I drove DS #1 to take a practice SAT/ACT exam, and we're hanging the rest of the day. Tomorrow is the game! Basketball, right? What do I know.....its all about the food and company. Linda, congratulations on the "pre-exam"! I got my Property/Casualty License in CO & remember stressing over the tests. Relax...you'll do great! Congrats to Erin, as well! What a wonderful Mother's Day present...can't do better than watching a child graduate! Enjoy the perennial sale. Annie, WOW! Your first anniversary already...I'm going to go back & look at the pixs again. It was a wonderful wedding & Annie, I'm so glad your Dad lived to see the smile on your face that day. Enjoy the Elvis concert. What a hoot. I think it's a fun present! Judy, another graduation! Congratulations to both your son & his finance. My DDIL also has her degree in music. She's a very cultured SAHM...rofl. Actually, DDIL's done something fun with her degree (if not profitable!)...she teaches a community music class to pre-schoolers. She's a pianist but since the third child was born she's not playing as frequently. :( I love listening to her play. We're going on our annual Mother's Day excursion to Newbury Perennials followed by lunch in Newburyport tomorrow. This will be our 9th year. This will be my first Mother's Day without any of the kids coming for a visit. Jobs have scattered our little family. BUT, our oldest daughter's DH is a diver on the oil rigs in the Gulf. They live in Houston & he ships out of LA. He's not been getting as much work & has just accepted an assignment in Norfolk for the next four months. After that, it seems likely he'll be offered a permanent job diving either in Norfolk or in Boston. We're trying not to get too excited but it sure would be great having them closer! Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers. And, for Heaven's Sake, let's hope the rain finally stops! My white garden fence has turned almost totally green this week...enough already! /tricia

Ooops...I started a tgif thread too...GMTA!!! well I will copy and paste here and let the moderators delete my thread. Happy Friday and Happy Graduation to all our forum friends attending graduations and grad parties! Today is supposed to begin a heat wave here in Philly! High 90's for the next few days! YIKES!!! Its so nice out now...just came in for another little cup of joe. I was out admiring the handy work of a few wayward teens. They were bored I guess and they decided it would be so much fun to try to rip down the neighbors railroad tie retaining wall, What they could not rip down they wrote all over with sharpies. I was at work so I did not see anything but I know who it was....there is a bad element here-I suppose most blocks have some sort of problems like this. I think it may be time to take over the block captain job again-the lady who took over for me is not doing a good job-in fact one of her kids is involved with the bad element. On another note...today is Drews last exam. He has short days next week and done on Friday. I will be SO happy to see this year end!! I didn't post too much about it but its been a terrible year for Drew. He just didn't seem to adjust to high school life and my one time honor student is barely passing. Frank and I have been pulling our hair out trying to help him but he is just not motivated. Hopefully after having summer off he'll start 10th grade with a better attitude! Amy and I will hit the gym while he takes his last 2 tests. I am going to try to get my hair cut today too. My "girl" has gone out on early maternity leave so for this cut I may just go to a hair cuttery type place for a trim. Her baby is due in July so I'll have to have another trim befor she returns in Sept-Oct. Tonight I was invited to see my co-worker off to his prom. A co workers prom you ask?? Yes a prom! Theres a young boy who is really a cool kid. Turn out he is Charles BEST friend!! so my co worker is taking Charles sister (my great step neice) to the prom!! Charles does not want to go-more on that later. After that I was invited to a jewelry demonstration. I do not wear a lot of jewelry but I'll go and see...maybe I will get a jump start on holiday shopping?? Tomorrow I have to work early but I also get done early which is good as its the block clean up and I need to be here LOL!! Someone has to talk some sense into these people! LOL!! No really the block needs a good cleaning and we as a community have to work together to make this a safe neighborhood. Tomorrow night Frank and I are going out to dinner...nothing to celebrate really, well maybe celebrate just getting thru the past year LOL!! Sunday is Pocono Race day. The guys get up before the crack of dawn and set up camp on the infield of the Pocono Racetrack and watch the race. I went once and vowed to never go again!! LOL Its LOUD!! However I do help him get ready so he doesn't forget anything. I will no doubt have to work but I will treat myself to something sinful for dinner!! Eeek, I remember not being worried about Amanda but Ashley scared me to freakin' death! Lee, have fun as a "weekend widow". Here that only happens during deer season. Or small game season or fishing season or turkey season or....well, you get the idea. LOL Fortunately, Elery doesn't hunt furry creatures although he may start if he ever hits another deer with his vehicle! David, have fun and say hello to Cathy for me. don't let her get you all drunk or anything. (grin) Katie, good luck with the lucky dog. Doesn't sound too lucky to me! I did my weeding two nights ago, I'm good for a week or so, thank goodness. We have rain, rain and more rain here. SharonCB, stay cool, I'm going to think "no forest fires" for you. What am I up to? I'm going tomorrow morning to pick some more strawberries, I picked all of my own and now I have to go to the local u-pick. $1.10 a pound, it's not so bad, I'll go first thing in the morning if it isn't raining. We have 28 new baby chicks at the farm, so I need to take Makayla and Bud to see them and I got my first "harvest" of radishes, so I'm hoping for some salad greens to go with those. Lambsquarter for sure. Sunday Amanda, David and the kids are supposed to come over for dinner and a swim in the pool. Of course, it's supposed to rain, so we'll see what happens. TGIF, everyone. Morning and TGIF!!

Today I'm working for the appliance company scheduling the appts and tonight we are meeting friends at a pizza restaurant for dinner. THen we'll all come back here for drinks.

Tomorrow we are going to a big birthday party for two little boys, it's going to be like a carnival! Bounce Houses, slide, dunk tank, bungee pull, swimming, cotton candy machine..... oh the fun! *full bar for adults* Yipppeee!!!!

Sunday my sister and her husband are coming over for lunch. I'm making a Shrimp Caesar Salad, Chicken Soup, Lima Bean Soup, Cuban Bread w/Roasted Garlic and some type of dessert, not sure about that one yet. I plan on using my new Lee Wolf cutting board to serve the bread on. My sister is gonna LOVE that board!

So that's our weekend. OH I started the weekend off last night actually. Went out to dinner with 10 other friends to a Mexican Restaurant. What a fun time we had.

Wonderful day so far. Can the entire US auto industry just be picked up and sent to China? I have to shut up about that or I'll go on a long senseless rant. Coffee is making... gotta remind myself not to post before the first cup.

Need to take a week or two off work, lock the doors, pull the shades, and cut the phone cord. Yup... stessed out.

nancy, i saw a couple robins the other day, standing next to a pile of snow. Now we have about 4 inches covering everything again, this AM. sigh.

Linda, grill something for me, will ya? We should have a virtual birthday celebration, don't you think?

Not much planned here this weekend either. I'd love to garden and grill, but mother nature doesn't care what I want.

Linda2, I HATE car shopping but I'll take this opportunity to say "buy American". Remember, I live in Michigan, home of Motor City. LOL

Nancy, I got snow last night, no gardening for a while. Even the garlic isn't up, but I saw the first red knobs of my rhubarb last weekend.

Michael/Lyra, you need to visit Shaun, get yourself a big hat and a margarita and just "chill", as Makayla tells me.

Shaun, have a great party. Of course, I know you will.

Elery will be here this evening, but nothing else planned. Things will happen as they usually do.

Thank goodness I don't have to work today. Look what we woke up to........

Only the second time we have had snow this winter. The first being back around the 1st of December. Thankfully it will be short lived. It is suppose to be back up around 50Â°F for the weekend.

Ann, that's just beautiful, prettier than the big banks of leftover dirty snow that I have here.

Stacy, I was really referring to the farm chores, to whatever Ashley "needs" to have done (like her laundry, LOL), cooking, cleaning, whatever.

I am, however, hoping for a little bit of "fun stuff" too. You know, those......things. (grin)

Linda/bessie- we'll be car shopping too. My car is 9 and needs a bunch of incidental repairs. Probably not worth it although it has only 91,000 miles and the engine is great.
Last night I drove a couple of Volvo's. Good leasing deal right now on the XC90, but I don't think it's the car for me.
DD just arrived back from 6 days in Chicago. The weather was awful and her flight massively delayed due to the snow storm. I'm just greatful that she and the kids are back in sunny So.Cal!
Tomorrow night I'm off to a fundraiser with my boss, where the school is being honored and other than that I'm working and car shopping! No big social plans in the works.

yeah, my mind is kind of out of whack today along those lines, I guess.

I had a dream last night that Donald Trump - who I am not even remotely attracted to - gave me lingerie - in interoffice envelopes - and I was expected to "wear" it - if you know what I mean...

maybe gonna be one of those days for me, where every comment that can be taken that way, probably will...

Stacy, Did you watch the apprentice last night? I didn't follow this season but caught a bit last night! LOL!

We are taking the train to the city tomorrow to see the circus. We could have seen it on LI but the train is half the fun for the boy.

We have been sick here again this week. This was bad. I really felt like I was just hanging on by a thread taking care of the kids. I feel much better today but Andrew has that croupy cough again. Grace is 6 mos and just got weighed yesterday at the doc - she is 17 pounds. Oink! LOL:) She cracks me up.

Stacy, that is just so wrong! LOL

No Spring here either. I'm at the cottage and there is at least 5 " of fresh snow, what is that all about! Suppose to warm up a bit next week. Maybe I'll at least be able to see my gardens!

No big plans this weekend. I think I'll spend some time transforming freezer stuff into other freezer stuff. Friend are coming for dinner tomorrow night, they have asked me to make Chicken and Sliders. I haven't made them for a couple of years, so we're due.

Well a weekend with out the girls and I need to clean the house really bad. Things got busy right before Easter and I haven't felt up to getting things that needed to be done. I am working on laundry today and the house tomorrow or this evening. DH and I want to go to a bigger town to go shopping, and out to eat. I would love to but I am alway tired the day after and won't get much done and waste away tomorrow. So I am taking it easy and try to clean out this mess of the house.

It's supposed to be cold, wet, windy and just plain yucky here.

I'm going to stay inside and sew and bake. So there!!

Hey everyone! Well I'm going to have a relaxing weekend, nothing that has to get done. I'm in a good mood right now, my son informed me while we were having lunch together (spring break started today) that he has cut his short list for college down to two schools. So now he just needs to decide between U of I (Illinois) and Ohio State. He just cut Notre Dame, he decided that 1. it is too small, 2. it's in a bad location (talk about lake effect snow!) and 3. it is a bit too elitist for him (he refuses to even buy name brand cloths because he feels that is nothing more than a way for kids to show they have more money (or more indulgent parents) than others so I really could not figure out why he was applying to Notre Dame). I have to admit that I'm just thrilled to be only one step from an actual decision!
