Thanks also to Malcolm Manners for bringing the Bermuda tea rose 'Miss Atwood' for the plant sale. I've been wanting to add that rose to my tea collection for months, but have been unable to find it anywhere here out west. Thank to him, I was able to get it. I also bought 'Alba Odorata' in a moment of madness. This is a huge rose and it simply will not fit anywhere inside the fence. I'm thinking of planting outside the fence near the manzanitas with a temporary barrier to allow it to grow higher than the deer can reach. There is no irrigation out there, but I could drag a hose out to water it until it is established. Nothing outside the fence gets watered once it has taken hold. Brutal treatment, but if any rose can tolerate it, this is the one. I feel bad about this kind of rose abuse, but no one else wanted it. I figure a slim chance is better than no chance. Rosefolly

Hi Mike!!! I agree with Butterfly.. Put her outside and pot her up into a bigger container!! You know the mix that I used and you of all people can make it well!! ;-). I used the 5-1-1 on yours!!! Acclimate to full sun and it will love it!! The others that i sent out to Robert and Mike have done well, so I know yours will be fine too!!! Working hard and taking care of all of my plumeria!! I think I have to many! Never.... ;-) Grand baby takes up my time as well, but its a good thing!!! I love it!!! Hope you are well and you all are warming up finally! What an awful winter we have had!! I did lose one palm , but the ones in the backyard are all doing well. I had to hurricane cut the Butias , but they are pushing fronds!! Thank goodness.. I was so worried!!! Give mom a big hug for me and sending more to you as well!!!! Take good care, Xo Laura

You are all more than welcome. You are appreciated as well. Thank you to Debbie for organizing the details of the food. You did a great job and there was a wonderful variety of food. I don't think I have ever seen a cake as large as the carrot cake go so quickly!!! There were too few slips of the recipe for the rice salad and Kathlin did not get one. Can the person who brought that please send me the recipe? And finally, thanks to all the people who helped set up, carry stuff to and from autos, and clean up at the end. Can't wait til Spring. YAY! The deed is done, the saga is over. Granny Marsh has all but 'fessed up. I think I devoured half the milk chocolate bar she sent reading posts and Member Pages the past few days! LOL! Yes Shirley, the flying scary monkeys were from Wizard of Oz and are probably responsible for many youthful nightmares to this day. Anyone in a flight path from Seattle to Michigan, watch the skies closely because I'm going to release a batch of them to thank Granny Marsh personally for her good deed and wicked secret-keeping ways. Like the bumper sticker I saw said: "Don't make me release the flying monkeys!" Shirley, hats off to your son for pursuing law enforcement-that is a most honorable calling and I'm sure will pay off handsomely in the future. If he needs a sleuthing tutor: you have my email! I still had you in mind for my Pal, because you're so nice. Also Carol/Veeja who is always looking out for me, but now looking for her dahlia tubers LOL and will get them SOON, I promise. I don't want to send you junk tubers that won't grow- be patient! And don't forget Earthly who I was soooooo sure was my sub Pal, or Dianna Mud Mom who sends things to me out of the blue! But no, 'twas the Finn from Michigan and very much fun to try to figure this out. Couldn't have done it without the clues, Granny! Thanks again. What a terrific group of people! And now I can say Thanks Cassie for a great Secret Pal swap.
