Can you recommend any? I use Allrecipes.com a lot. I really don't use the internet a lot mostly this site, Allrecipes and to find pics of pastry, cakes and arts and crafts things. Okay, I do use it a lot. The blog thing seems interesting but after searching food blogs I didn't find anything to my liking so looking for some recommendations. thanks.

My favorite stand by recipe site is Steph's Country Kitchen Goodness. I've been using many of her recipes for YEARS.

Cookie, there are thousands on the web. When I am searching for a recipe, most often I do a Google search, then I just add interesting sites to my favorites. I have a folder for recipe sites and another for blogs. Many blogs have links to other blogs. I get lost and all of a sudden realize that I've been reading for hours.

I don't know about other sites, but artfire.com lists the number of items sold in a person's shop; but not the items. It is located on the left hand side of that person's page near the avatar (or image)mine is a landscape right now. In my shop (rhomy), I have greeting cards that are reproductions of my paintings, some decorative painted items, etc. The item number sold is 3; but you don't know 3 what. But you have an idea - something painted or reproduced of original work. A jewelry shop might be expensive or costume. A shop might be for children's toys or clothes. The clothes might be new or recycled or handknitted. Try to look only at the shops that have limited variety of items to compare. Another thing is that it states I have been a pro member since 2009. That isn't accurate, I joined in 2009 but didn't publish anything to sell. In oct, 2010 I decided to take the discount price to sell "pro". So my sales are only since the end of Oct. Ebay would be another way to check what is selling, but I would be careful of only 1 bidder items. Go to the type of item you would want to sell; then on the right upper corner of the listings select (ending soonest). That way you will have an idea of how many listings are about to expire and how many bids an item got. This is the same kind of research you would want to do if you decided to open any business in your town. How many retailers offer my product, what is the quality of the items they sell, their price, etc. Now, in my case, I love to paint. I want to expose my paintings; maybe sell one or 2. I am going to paint whether one sells or not. I have sold on commission but not through my shop. If you have facebook (FB), you might invite your friends to your blog, or you might open a FB fan page (ads & pages)instead of spamming your friends on your FB page. I do believe there are many more sellers than buyers. It all depends on what you want to sell and how committed you are to selling it. cali

This would be extremely easy to do. If you know WordPress you could get it all done in about two working days. If not, there will be a learning curve but it won't be too terribly painful. Will cost a few hundred dollars to DIY. You need to choose your host. HostGator is a good option since you won't have tons of traffic or big, beefy content files. There are others, so check out your options carefully. I've been thru a few WordPress themes and the best one I've found, that offers the most options for revisions to keep overall design fresh is from Envato/Themeforest it's called The7. http://goo.gl/Z1E8Uk To control privacy of members and access to content you have two options, you can go LMS or MMS. LMS is Learning Management System plugin. It's what elearning sites use. MMS is Membership Management System plugin. It's what many coaching type sites use. LMS plugin would be like LearnDash. MMS plugin would be like WishList. All you do is install your plugin of choice, create your posts with content and images just like they're regular WordPress posts (or pages) and then use your LMS or MMS to identify the members that can have access to the content. The super simpler way to do this would be to just install WordPress and password protect each and every post. I'd use one password for all. Give the passwords to patients and call it done. The problem with that, however, is you won't have any control beyond that. You won't have a list. You won't know what accessed what, etc. And as you get more experienced with WordPress and plugins, you won't be able to go back and capture membership information - that train will have already left the station, so to speak. Plus, you're going to have to deal with people losing the password. A LMS or MMS system allows a member to reset passwords on their own. So, you're better off, IMO, going with some kind of membership route right from the beginning so you at least have the option of doing things with the email list it builds for you. Like, sending a blast of information to the whole group of patients is probably the most basic thing you would want to do. The best strategy is to build it for growth down the road even if you think it will always be small. If you hire someone to build a site for you, my guess is it will cost anywhere from $1,500 to $3,000. One of the most important things to establish FIRST is how you want your permalinks formatted. It's easy to do from the WP dashboard. Settings>Permalinks and then choose a radial button. Thank you, thank you. I had a couple sites bookmarked on my old computer but it crashed and died. I can't find them as I came across them by chance and for some reason didn't even look at the website name! Crazy. Anyways, off to spend probably hours checking out the ones listed. That is, of course, after I go shopping for ingredients to make pumpkin bread pudding - found off The Joy of Baking website, love, love, love pumpkin.

I do quite a bit of searching around also. I did run across this new one the other day as my family enjoys Asian. I will have to look at the others that have been posted.

Ann_t I think you have posted a link before in the past for a woman that has a blog that does quite a bit of Asian cooking. I have tried searching and can not find it. Can you help please? Thank you.
