Not a full moon, but mercury is in retrograde. Will be in shadow days until I think the 28th, but we are still in "red days". You can Google Mercury in Retrograde and Year 2010 Calendar to read about it. I never paid much attention, until a few years ago and I always can tell when it occurs.

That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

You know what they say, when it rains it poors, isn't that how it always is? And I hate when those times arrive too. Of course I only know what I see here in the forum, but the impression you always reflect to me is that you're a very kind, fun loving person who is soooo likeable Pesky, don't let them rain on your parade. The anger will just attract more negativity. Take a deep breath, think about all that is wonderful in your life and separate yourself from it. It's THEIR problem not yours.

Thank you sooo much for the info about Mercury in retrograde. There are times when the drama just PILES UP in our life and for some reason it just really got to me and DH last night.

When I went to bed I said some grateful prayers for the good things in our lives. I have to acknowlege those or I'll end up sour & mean!

I think if you read a little about it, you will see some things in your own life may have gone haywire during retrograde, particularly on the red/red yellow highlighted days.

Not for everyone. I was a skeptic until only a few years ago. I can tell when it is retrograde without even looking at the calendar because alot of things happen to get screwed up during this time, in particular -communication.

This is like stating that it's too trivial to discuss paint color when there's a war going on. You're entitled to your opinion although it's more of a judgement, imho....

Yes, I do believe it has some effect. The tidal pull of gravity definitely has an effect; it's pretty common thinking that lunar activity (ie full moon) has effects on people. We're made up of minerals in our bodies, so I think that the ebb and flow of gravity is a factor. That's my scientific theory anyway!

In that the ocean tides are caused by the gravitational interaction between the earth and the moon, I have to say yes.

And though just anecdotal, from having worked at a walk-in citizen's complaint center many years ago, I tend to believe there is a relation between the full moon and people's actions.

I wouldn't use astrology to help make any major life decisions. I do like to think we still have a connection to the basic elements of the Earth, moon, sun and planets. I amuse myself reading the horoscopes and on occasion like to read dh's to him.
In today's paper for him: Let your partner choose the direction today. Ha!
I worked with the public for decades. Full moons seemed to bring out craziest of the crazy.
I will admit this too...I have a deck of tarot cards and I thinks it's interesting what comes up. I get them out as a parlor type of game when family comes over (they ASK me to read their cards!) and the oddest coincidences come up in the cards.

deedee, I have seven sets of Tarot cards. *cheesy grin* I have most of them because I loved the artwork on them; for many years I only had one set (which had actually been a gift from someone else) but in recent years there has been an explosion in beautifully-done Tarot cards as well as this broader range of cards being more readily available. Anyway, I like to use Tarot readings to stir up things in my subconscious mind, provoke ideas that I hadn't necessarily thought of already, and come up with different ways of looking at things going on in my life and the potential ramifications if I do this or this or this. And yes, sometimes the weirdest coincidences do pop up, but do I think they are accurate predictors of future events? Nah. Ditto for astrology, numerology, crystal reading (although I do have a pint-size basket of crystals and stones of various types, they're pretty and fun to play with, and some of my friends are either rockhounds or crystal folks), I Ching, examining animal guts, and other types of divination. I think they can all have their uses, but I don't think relying entirely on any of these things is a good way to direct your life.

What one believes in - and I mean really believes, on the gut level - can have a very significant effect on their emotions, behavior regarding self and others, and worldview in general. I mean, at risk (ha! near-guarantee) of offending some other posters, when you really get down to it it's just as reasonable as basing all of one's life choices on the belief that there's a noncorporeal being who is omniscient, omnipotent, and almost entirely oriented on having direct influence on virtually every tiny detail of existence (including fielding constant requests and demands from millions of people who believe this being is continuously observing them), and may suffer great emotional disturbance over behaviors that may offend said being. And to top it all off, many of these people - often quite viciously - condemn others who don't share their belief in this particular being, or even might address the same being differently than they do, sometimes to the point of murdering other humans. Viewed dispassionately, it makes about as much sense as basing all of one's life decisions, behaviors, and even self-definition on the movements of celestial bodies light-years away, doesn't it?

The human body is over 60 percent water and even higher for the brain (based on a quick internet check) so why wouldn't our bodies be affected by these gravitational pulls? There is so much we don't know about the working of the human body and brain that I wouldn't discount much of anything.

My deck is Golden Tarot by Kat Black and they ares stunning. Collages of artwork from the late middle ages and early Renaissance. I was always fascinated by tarot since I was a little girl. I think it started watching the gypsies in the old werewolf movies on Creature Features. For my 40th bday I received a gc from borders and decided to get a deck. I thought I could walk in and discretely pick a deck out. Instead...they were kept in a locked case and employees shouted to each other across the busy store that a lady needed help at the tarot case. My daughter was mortified and acted like she didn't know me.

I hadn't got them out in ages and just did a reading. Out of 10 cards 4 were coins and 2 powerful women. Yesterday got notice from my bank that my business loan is up for renewal and I need to submit financial info.

pesky, it did take a while for me to be able to glance at the cards and get a "reading" quickly. There are 78 cards in the deck so quite a bit to remember about what signifies what.
I have (as silly as it sounds) Tarot Made Easy by Nancy Garen. The Golden Tarot did come with a booklet too.

And if your wondering,the Death card signifies change and renewel, does not mean imminent death to someone near and dear. Everybody shrinks back in fear from it in the old movies, but it's actually a good card. The Tower is the one that's not fun to see....
I still snicker at my adult brothers sheepishly lining up last Christmas to get their cards read. It's hard to resist a prediction no matter what you believe in.

That is the same book I have deedee. I was going to go look on the bookshelves, but I recognize the cover. I have two copies still, the one my mom had and the copy she bought me. I thought it was a good book for learning the basics although I haven't picked up the deck to use it in a long time. One of these days!
