OK, need some advice from all the paint/glazing guru's out here!

Love this forum and all the helpful advice, and the beautiful picture. Being inspired by all the beautiful colored islands I wanted to give my almost finished kitchen a pop of color by painting an inexpensive craigslist China Cabinet.

Worked all weekend sanding and painting. Looks....ok. I think I was scared to go too Grey and the cabinet is very "BLUE" I was going for a more muted slate grey/blue color. So now my question is what next, if anything?

I have tried to read about glazing, but am confused, do I buy grey, black, 2-3 shades "greyer" but still the color I have now to mix with the glaze?

Can I just glaze the details and corners or do I need to have the glaze on all areas (even broad flat areas) to look ok?

How much will it really change the color? I don't want the china cabinet to just look "dirty" as some people have said about glazing, but right now it looks very "you went to home depot and slapped some paint on this thing"

Thanks in advance, I know this forum will give me all the answers I need!
