Words With Friends: I did NOT Resign...grrrrr

Several times, always when I'm winning, of course, up pops " ....you resigned". Can this be removed and game continued, or must I frustratingly hit " okay" when it ism't really , and just get over it and resign ?.?

I'm not sure about that, but I have a question. Several times, towards the final moments of a game when I'm just a few points behind but with several tiles left and the opportunity to make a "good" word, I get notification that I've lost. I'm not shown what word my opponent has just formed, but the game is over. I don't believe she's used all of her tiles, so why is this happening?

I am an avid Scrabble player on Facebook. Love it. Like you, I have 4 to 5 games going at any given time. I think this is a relative view point. Traditionally, Scrabble is about vocabulary and tile placement. If you use the "word finders" then the game becomes more heavily weighted to the tile placement strategy. It is almost a different game. It really depends what you and the person you are playing enjoy. Everyone knows an "x" can be worth 8 points if played "straight up" or it can be worth 48 points if played on a triple in two directions. So, I would say that people who grew up playing table scrabble consider using those finder sites as cheating and they assign very negative feelings toward people who use them. Same feelings for those who use 2 and 3 word sites or lists. Others, however, play that way openly and still enjoy the game tremendously. Personally, I use the sites on occasion when I know there is something there that I just can't "see". I don't use words that I don't know though. When I don't know a word, I look it up and try to use it another time in a different game, because then the word is "mine". So hate away you traditionalists, but I am happy playing my way and the people I play with are fine too! :)

Like Alisande says you can play as much or as little as you desire. The nice thing is you can mull over a turn for as long as you want without the other person knowing you just can't put a word together. They just think you are at work or something, lol. Not like scrabble where people are biting at the bit for their turn. That's why I said scrabble was boring in that one post, Alisande, because you do have to sit there and wait and if you are playing with a slower player the time gets really long. I do disagree on going to the dictionary, though. I hope I'm not cheating, but I go to the scrabble words lists online with the q, z, and j words to see if there is a word I can play. There's a lot of weird words I never knew existed. Zein, Qi, Za, corf. I've learned many words I didn't know before. And a lot of times I will just put combinations of letters in not sure if it's a word, and once in a while you get a shocker. That's how I discovered corf was a word (for a triple/triple score). If it's not a word the game will tell you and then you just push OK and recall your letters.

I hadn't thought of the fact that it is a keepsake over like you say, plate of cookies until reading this tonight. Belle's comment was also nice. Sometimes we need to hear nice things from others to stay focused. For the last several years my DD and I have always made artifucal arrangements for funerals. We personalize them and have always had such nice compliments from families. We have had a few occasions where several want our arrangement and they come to us and ask who should get it. That's not good but most of the time it's been rewarding. I'll have to tell you a cute story. I lost a friend and we had made an arrangement for the service. I seen her husband a couple of months later and he said he had placed our arrangement in front of the big window facing their pond and had been watering it faithfully when another friend came by he was showing her how it still looked the same. She had to tell him it would never change and he best quit watering it or he might ruin it. He said they laughed so hard. He was laughing so much it was hard for him to tell me this story. I don't know that there is a way to NOT resign when resign is hit accidently.

Mona.....if you scroll down on the games list (past your ongoing games) a section "Games Over" will come up. You can click on the completed game to see what word was played.

The value you your remaining tiles becomes a negative when your opponent plays all of their letters.

When playing, and your opponent plays all his/her letters, the game is automatically over. So, when this happens, it figures out the score; AND ALSO, subtracts the point amt. of the letters left from the player that has the letters left AND adds them to the other players score.

I am 99% positive I have never hit resign by accident, and this has happened 3 or 4 times. So irritating...especially when way ahead of opponent. Dang!

I have had this happen to randomly also. Just a weird glitch in the game I guess, because it has happened when we were nowhere near the end of the game.

I gave up and hit " okay" to " you resigned" and the game came back. Very weird but good to know.

Rose,, I play on my iPad, but works on smart phones, etc.
Oh,
And i took another look and do not even see a resign button.

Very weird. I sometimes hit the resign button by accident but it always asks me if I actually want to resign.

I play on my Kindle Fire.

I had barely started a game when I got the message "Game Over" and it said "You Resigned". This had never happened to me before. I have never resigned a game and pretty sure I didn't this time. The annoying thing is it's just sitting out there with my other active games. Can I get it to go away?
