Do you use powdered sugar in your crepes?

You have probably encountered this website before, although it's new to me (at least I can't recall seeing it before). Do you use powdered sugar in your crepe batter? I never have, but I think it's a neat idea. What do you think of this video?

Way too complicated for this gal! Although must say they look fabulous.

My daughter loves crepes, I usually make them for her once a week for breakfast. My batter recipe suits us and is drop dead easy. I use my largest non stick, pour some batter into the pan and then twirl the pan to get the batter spread thinly. No special tools here but they aren't as thin as this guys are.

I never add sugar to the batter but Meredith loves powdered sugar on top of them. For my part I prefer savory to sweet.

I don't add sugar to my crepe batter at all, even for sweet recipes. I also do the twirl thing, though I help it with the edge of a wide spatula. I really want one of those wooden scraper-y things the guys was using though!

depends how much your doing, pestle and mortar are traditional but they are incredibly hard work (trust me) a coffee grinder may be a good idea unlike a blender it is specifically designed for powdering, hint, make sure its clean and not full of coffee, using a spice grinder for peper my dad ended up with cinamon flavour on his dinner (i had used it for cinnamon several months beforehand)

How much sugar do you use?

One part sugar to 4 parts water is the recommended amount. I keep it simple, and bring 2 C sugar in 8 C water to a boil, let boil a couple of minutes, cool. That amount will fill my 3 saucer shaped oasis feeders twice so I only have to make it every other cleaning/filling. The rest of the batch is refrigerated until needed. The 1:4 ratio is said to be close to the typical concentration found in many of the flowers from which they will feed. No honey, artificial sweeteners, sugar substitutes, just plain white sugar and water.....

Personally if I transfer mine to a container unless its a vintage or discontinued detergent I dispose of the box, By the way Mich I have a boat load of those containers as you showed above, tall ones and medium height ones, wish I could find really short ones, I had planned on my son painting them, with the right kind of paint of course and making nice labels, their easy to find, and I want to make my laundry room shelf more uniform. The italian canning jars someone showed on here would be so awesome but with the amount i'd need is way out if my budget.

Melinda, the first time that I saw them for sale they were like 6 feet tall, when I went back to get them they were all gone, so I got the small one and it has grown since I got it and no, I am not going to train it as tree because I want a little bush for this location, I already got the trees around there, the lychee, oak, red bud, white mulberry. Carol, I just went to Lowes this morning and they had a lot of these dark crape myrtles varieties, they are ready to bloom and they had in different flower colors, white, pink and in my opinion the deep red color and that is what I have is the prettiest! I make crepes almost every Sunday and no, I don't put powdered sugar or sugar of any kind in the batter. One of the DDs sprinkles powdered sugar on the finished crepe....sometimes just the sugar on a plain crepe, but usually a crepe filled with Nutella, squirted with lemon juice, or some fruit combination.

I don't use the wooden tool...I do use an offset frosting spatula to thin out the crepe after pouring.
