St. Valentine's Day Massacre

I had overwhelming V.D. multiple obligations the past few days.

For one of them, I promised to bring a few things to the party; 5 loaves of bread and a couple of dishes.

Being it was a work days, I left instructions to my house keeper to make the bread.

I had all the recipe ingredients laid out for the simple herb bread. Basically all she had to do was to dump the ingredients into the bread machine's knead cycle and load the finished dough into bread pans and put into the oven to rise and bake. I gave her all the timing instructions.

The day went according to schedule. When I got home I was greeted with a wonderful bread smell permeating in the house. I opened the oven to remove the loaves to let them rest. To my horror, what I found were five small solid bricks of baked dough.

Long story short. I told her the yeast was on the right side of the refrigerator door. She used the powdered garlic on the left side of the door instead.

It was not her fault. I meant right side when facing the refrigerator, she thought right side meant when the door was open.

Any way, I went to the store and got a few store made bread instead.

If you are interested in what I needed to do the past few days for V.D., please come back to this thread. I will be posting pictures whenever I have a few moments.
