Cute!

A first in our 35 years--DH and I picked out cards for each other at the same store. He showed me mine, I showed him his and we left them there! I decided I didn't want any additional clutter and frankly would rather have lots of flowers! Afterward, we treated ourselves to a massage--that's my idea of a treat!

Very true, Mike, but things are slowly being restored. We were very fortunate to have power since week 2 here in Arecibo. We were without water for 36 days but purchased filtered water from a hospital supplier for drinking and cooking ... there was NO bottled water!, refilled tanks of potable water through the municipality for bathing, and collected rain water for cleaning and laundry. Telephone and internet service is very poor and has still not returned fully. We had no property damage or flooding. Just a lot of discomfort those first couple of months. Stores and supermarkets are fully stocked but lots of local produce is missing until new crops grow. I put up a few pictures on FB for public viewing. You can see that by finding maria elena, arecibo ... I am wearing a peach sleeveless top and a big smile.

Everything does look delicious, and congratulations on that new love, Ricky. What did I do here? Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Well, mostly, I did stop and buy my Mother her favorite white chocolate/raspberry coffee drink. Elery is prepping for a colonscopy and diet is limited for five days before, which never was required previously. Mother had an echocardiogram, I did tell her that it was fitting to have a heart test on Valentine's Day, LOL. And so it came and went without so much as a cupcake, or heart shaped food of any type. Librarian-gardner - what is that plant? Not familiar with it... I went to Trader Joe's a couple -3? weeks ago and right at the front door they had these gorgeous Hellebores in pots! 10 bucks! 6" pots, 12" high plants - phenomenal! I got 3 - all different - I have a couple of kinds in the ground, but i might keep these in pots to put by my front door in prime real estate when they bloom next winter. They are very moody looking... I don't have any roses blooming at the moment - pruning them all now - but the pictures you folks are showing are gorgeous! Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm more excited that today means February is already half over. On to SPRING, I say!!

We have dinner reservations at a wonderful little bistro that serves northern Italian cuisine. I'm looking forward to being relieved of kitchen duty for the night and enjoying a wonderful meal with my sweetie of 32 years.

Enjoy all the flowers and chocolates, or whatever comes your way. So far, I have gotten a warmish day with sunshine. Works for me!

Happy Valentines Day to everyone, too!

I asked my dh for a new lawnmower battery for V day (I've been using a battery charger to start it the past 2 years but it's officially dead now).
He was surprised, yet I could tell, very pleased. I did it for him.
Compumom, I'll have to do that next year! It appeals to both of us.

Secretly, I want a gorgeous orchid, (HD has huge ones) but I would want to pick it out myself so I might go buy myself one today while out shopping for dh's special dinner.
Or wait and see if they're on sale tomorrow.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

No biggie here....Frank and I were both off this weekend and spent some "quality" time together.
I used to make heart shaped meatballs and a big meal for the family but since I started working the new job I haven't been doing as much cooking. So I have a big steak chillin in the fridge with a spicy rub...I have to work but Frank will grill it for him and Drew to share.

Today is exciting because its SPRING TRAINING!!!
(can you tell Im and little stoked??) Best pitching line up EVER!!! And what makes this season so thrilling is that Hubster got me a six pack for Christmas!! Sadly my first game isn't until May 23 so I'll be watching or listening to games til then!!

Also tonight is the first night of Westminster!! Some of Abbee and Apollo's cousins qualified so root for the Havanese!!!

Ellen, that is such a fun idea! I love it and I'm going to steal it!

Coconut that is so cute! It reminded me of doing the classroom Valentines when I was little. My Mom said I had to give one to everyone so no one felt left out...even the BOYS!

Lars, I love that purple whatsit flower, couldn't think of the name.
We had a steak dinner yesterday with red tablecloth and Martinelli's for the kids. DH found some lovely roses that are cream with a pink edge. I used to do card merchandising so told him I never wanted to see another valentine card as long as I lived. Flowers, yeah, ooh, and that massage is sounding lovely. What I'd really like is reservations - that I didn't make. I like making it a special day for the kids. Any excuse for something fun. Strawberry milk and sweet rolls for after school snacks today.
