DD2 found our Flat Coated Retriever mix at the shelter in Chilton Co. He is the best dog. Our lab was going to be put down at a vet office when she brought him home. He's a sweetie too.

Nothing better than a shelter pup! She is a doll. Can't wait to see more pics. Got me thinking..could we stand three dogs? Hmmm...

She's absolutely beautiful. We have two Aussies, a male and female, and they are the best dogs ever. Smart, loyal, obedient, and oh so energetic! She and your BC mix will have a ball together.

Please keep us posted as she grows.

OMG, totally adorable. I am a sucker for the floppy ears.

We lost our dog in November. Not quite ready for another one yet. But, looking at that picture...sure makes me think...no, no, no, no puppy at least until travel baseball season is over for DS. Not home enough for a new puppy during baseball season.

I also vote for "Prima". Love it.

Prima is nice, and especially since it means something to you. I also think Lyra is pretty.

Bad news. One of the puppy's littermates started showing symptoms of parvo. So the vet who had spayed the puppy ran the test on the puppy and she tested positive. After conversations with that vet, my vet, the shelter and DH, we decided not to get the puppy. I'm not sure I can deal with possibly losing so soon a dog I don't even have yet. Especially after just losing my Kato last month.

There is a rescue group who is taking the other two littermates and will take this one as well. She'll be treated by the rescue group, which is good. I just wasn't ready for the possible outcome.

ohhhhh noooo....that is so sad. I hate hearing things like that, sure hope it's going to be ok. Sorry for your disappointment; your feelings are completely understandable, loosing a pet is so hard.

If she comes through, could you get her then? Sounds like she isn't showing symptoms yet, so maybe they can treat her more successfully than if she were already showing symptoms. I am so sad about this. Heartbreaking and so much worse b/c here we were all witing for those happy pictures. Poor baby.

Puppy...sigh! Aussie puppy or mix...double sigh. Rescue? Wonderful! Keep the pics coming so that we may watch her grow!

I certainly understand your decision. Losing a dog is losing a family member and having gone through that so recently it's best that the rescue group took her.

She is a cutie and I do hope she pulls through and they find her a good home. I also hope that you find just the right pup to open your heart to.

oh no, I missed the sad news...but wait! Our Aussie pup rescue had parvo and was taken by the rescue org., and vet saved her. Parvo isn't always a killer. Sweet girl...hoping she makes it.

I'm sorry to hear about this too, and your choice to not take her is completely understandable.

My beagle got parvo when she was a few months old, even though she had been vaccinated. She was very sick and had to spend two nights at an intensive care center, but she made it and is a wonderful healthy two-year old now.

I hope this works out for you soon.

Oh, no! I was hoping to see a few pictures but this is bad news indeed! I completely understand why you couldn't take her. Bless the rescue organizations and I certainly hope this little one recovers and finds a great home.

Is there any way you can follow her recovery and bring her home after she gets well?

I hope there is a chance you might still get her. She is ADORABLE. Parvo can be a terrible illness, but many, many pups make it through. Hopeful since they caught it so early.

There is still hope! I've been in touch with the rescue group that has her and have filled out an application with them. I'm not "local" to them, but they'll consider us with a strong vet reference.

The foster mom said that she never broke out with parvo symptoms, so they plan to watch her for about another week just to make sure she is through the woods. Keep your fingers crossed!

I have all my fingers and toes crossed. This little pup melted my heart! I want you to get her badly so we can watch her grow up!

OH, I'll be hoping and hoping...she is beyond adorable.
