Has anybody ever used DCH skin care?

I got some samples in the mail, and used them. They seem really good, and not too expensive.

I have never heard of them, and wonder if someone knew more about them.

I, too received samples. I wondered which mailing list sold my name to them. Haven't tried anything yet. Seems like a non-catchy name, doesn't it, in a world of Philosophy and Tarte and Bare Escentuals?

I use them and love them. Use the oil cleanser in winter and mild soap in summer. Use some of their moisturizers and a facial scrub. Also, shampoo and conditioner. I do not wear makeup so not sure about that. They send 4 free samples with any order and have a loyalty program which nets discounts and free items. I use the samples for traveling.

This happened to me years ago and although it’s an old thread, I wanted to comment in case it help anyone. I experienced the same symptoms as most on this thread- I went to see all kinds of specialists but when I finally went to my general doctor, he fixed me. Literally made a difference in 15 min. He is a general practitioner but also certified to do manipulations which is different than a chiropractor. He did tests to see if I may have MS or carpel tunnel. But those target specific fingers. He then made me stand up and checked my back. BOOM! I had three ribs out of place. Finally after 6+ months of my right hand tingling and bruising, I had an answer. Dislocated ribs sometimes don’t cause pain BUT if they pinch the right nerve, it can cause all the symptoms to your arm and fingers. Popped blood vessels etc. he adjusted me (again, different from a chiropractor) and within 15 min I felt relief in my arm hand and fingers. Now, anytime I feel tingling, I go see him and sure enough, my rib is out. People can displace ribs with a sneeze. Sometimes it causes pain and other times you can’t even tell. A miracle for me.

boop, I've been the same way--I *did* give up, though, for way too many years, because I just didn't want to take a chance breaking out again. EVERYTHING made me break out, it seemed. I've just started back, and through research and taking a chance I've found a few things that not only work, but work *amazingly* well and my skin is better than it ever has been. (The wrinkles are still there but much less prominent, and the rest of it is so smooth!). My main go-tos now: 1) Burt's Bees Willowbark & peach (something) scrub--moisturizes while mildly exfoliating, and doesn't make me break out; 2) Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Toner--delicious stuff, and even though they say it's for oily/troubled skin it's not too much for my 49 y.o. skin, and it doesn't make me break out :); 3) Cosmetic Skin Solutions C E Ferulic Acid Serum--it's evidently a match for a much more expensive serum, but available through Amazon, and it doesn't make me break out :); 4) CSS Phyto + Gel, again a match for something else that clears up any little issues that might arise (not many anymore with the above elements) and is also helping with reducing brown spots, and 5) Korres Sugar Crystal multivitamin antioxidant treatment. Korres is a line from Greece, so it's not exactly local, but this stuff is so great I will deal with the energy use issues. It's an intense moisturizing treatment that is a bit sticky so I put it on at night about every other night. I also use Korres Evening Primrose eye cream at night too. I found out about these things at truthinaging.com (the CSS serums -- I am eternally grateful to truthinaging for alerting me to them), and combined the results with reading reviews at Sephora. Never thought I'd be such a skincare hound because I've always had adult acne (not horrible but some) and it was then starting to combine with wrinkles which really made me depressed...but I'm finally in a place with products that make a *visible*, *touchable* difference and are really easy on the skin so I thought I'd share specifics. Hope they help! (I also tried other products in the course of this search but they did make me break out, so I stopped them. I can tell within about 3 days whether something's going to be problematic. I feel like the dermatological canary in the coalmine, I'm so sensitive!) Does anybody ever use Behr paints here?

I've used Behr paints quite a bit, no problem with it. I have not found any paint brand that is really "one coat coverage" especially when painting a light color over a dark. Maybe its just my painting skills, but I always need to do 2 coats. I've also used Valspar, Clark and Kensington and Benjamin Moore. I've never used Sherwin WIlliams, simply because it wasn't available nearby. I see that Lowes does sell a version of Sherwin Williams paint now, so I might try that the next time I need paint. Whatever is on sale, I've used but I never get the cheapest paint in whatever line I choose. I will say, we don't have children or dogs that can get the walls dirty, so I've never had to test how well the paint handles scrubbing, my walls stay pretty clean.

I'm 74 and have been exercising 3 times weekly now for 11 years. I really concentrate on my legs as they need to work for me when my poor old damaged lungs can't. I could still wear shorts in the summer until about 5 years ago when gravity finally got my knees. It was inevitable. I have very strong muscles in my legs but it's the skin, not the muscles. Yes, I have been a sun worshiper for many years. It doesn't help my skin but tanned saggy skin looks SO much better when it's tanned. At 60, you don't yet have the old bruised, scared legs that will appear over the next 10 years. Out skin on our calves thins and a small bump can result in a deep cut. My lower legs look like someone has been beating them with a stick! But when they're tan, they look much better and the scars and bruises don't show as much. It is very hard to age when one is vain. One must do the best one can and accept the rest with humility.

I have used for years. Mild soap. Concentrated eye cream. Ceramide cream and milk when my dry skin is suffering. I am switching over to some Ahava products just for something new. I stock up the DHC samples to use on shirt trips.

I am curious about a skincare line called Paula's Choice. Has anyone heard of them? I learned about them through a website with discussion boards called makeupalley.com and they sound interesting. I purchased samples and am giving them a try. They are much less expensive than what I see at Sephora, Ulta, and the department stores. By the way, there is an interesting encyclopedia rating beauty products on the Paula's Choice website called the beautypedia. It has almost every product line you can think of with ratings.

Rosa...I don't know anything about her line or that she even had one....but years ago I did buy her book which is what she is famous for...Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me...where she reviewed lines, ingredients, etc.

joaniepoanie, Yes, that is her book. I haven't read the book but I am impressed with her products so far -- I've had only the little sample sizes that are available for sale on her website. She also does review the DHC brand items on her website and there are user reviews though with all websites I take these with a grain of salt. I feel like there are fake reviews on every website (except for this one!)

I love Paula's Choice skincare products. I regularly use the AHA and BHA, one bottle of each lasts me more than a year. I've tried many of the others, such as her acne products when I needed them, with good results, too. The skincare prices are very good. I have not tried her makeup.

Interesting.....I went to Paula's Choice website and looked at reviews for lots of makeup....drugstore and department store.....lots of poors and averages with some goods and a few bests. Paula gives herself all Bests. Isn't it a conflict of interest to critique your own line? I know it's only makeup, but it kind of rubbed me the wrong way...now I'm not keen on trying it.

joaniepoanie, that is funny that she rates herself!!

I placed an order, but now....I get an email from them...I did not give them an email address. So, like jamies, I had wondered where they got my name, NOW I really wonder!

I am counting the minutes until it gets here, because my face felt SO much better using those samples.
