Thanks and again I feel a little guilty for not searching the web myself, but as expected the "web" is not as helpful as the direct input I get from this forum. My Toshiba is a T135D, I think the "D" indicates a special package for BJs Discount Club. Of course that is too small a market for a special design, so I suspect the T135 models listed in the Link provided are close enough to assume the same fix would work. It is helpful to read the link and learn my problem is not a unit specific problem, rather a driver problem it seems. That said, my volume is so low I have to be in a quiet room to even hear it is on in a low whisper. As the link advised I went to "uninstall" and removed the [conexant HD Audio Driver] and re-booted the computer. As promised the boot discovered the missing driver and loaded one, seems a Microsoft Driver [7/13/2009, Version 6.1.7600]. Looking at the list of programs, conexant is still missing, or at least that name is missing. The volume remains lowl The reference site than suggests downloading an new driver which includes "conexant" in the file name and is a whopping 157.26 MB, wow for a driver? Looks suspicious to me, anyone know the site to be a "honest broker"? I have a lot of space on my HDD, so why not? So in the download effort, not successful, I am introduced to a "GOLD Download" which promises the download in about 2 minutes. As I have a 1.5 MBit DSL, the 2 minutes for 8 x 157.26 MB plus overhead can not be downloaded in 2 minutes unless "GOLD" has some significant compression which is unmentioned if it is there. It warns that without GOLD it will take 68 minutes, sounds about right, so I click download, which downloads a small file [MixxxDJ.... an installer]. So now I am expected to run an installer with all my security down, i.e., the installer is on my computer. I have very little confidence/trust for such activities. Any testimonials for the subject web site? Or, another idea on how to update my Audio Driver? That is recover "conexant" or some other improved driver - i.e., run the Mixxx guy.

We are building a home and I would like to do some in-wall speaker wiring. IÂve done the basics before, now I just want to step up to having a "B" set of speakers to control for outside. So here are my questions: 1) Can I have my "B" set of speakers be 2 speakers outside on the back porch and a set of 2 speakers in the garage? Can wires for both sets of speaker wires go off the same wall panels (L & R) behind the receiver to different wall panels outside and in garage? 2) To control these "B" sets of speakers outside and in the garage IÂd like to put in separate volume controls, but IÂm not sure what exactly to get. IÂve seen lots of the dimmer (round knob) types, but am not sure of the tech specs I would need (and these go between the receiver and the speakers somewhere along the speaker wiring route?) 2b) Can I use on of the regular volume/dimmer controls outside the house? (Under covered porch, but here near Toronto, so we get snow and below freezing to humid and in the 90Âs each year 3) Is there a good/better/best type of plug to use for the speakers? I just used regular wire-pinch style clips in the wall of my last place; are banana plugs or other style plugs better for attaching the speaker wire to the plates on the walls? (Especially for the outside speakers  they will be under the roof of a covered porch.) Thanks for the help

It's a fairly new machine, but a low-end compact (24"w) model whose design hasn't changed much in decades. Definitely a standalone buzzer, not an electronic beeper on a circuit board (I checked the parts diagram). I thought of insulating it in the manner you suggested to quiet it, but I prefer the volume-control approach so if you're away from the laundry room and want to hear the buzzer from across the apartment, you still have the option to make it loud.

Honestly I think you're way overdoing it. I think you should put two speakers in the kitchen, none in the dining room, and buy decent equipment for your family room. I can't for the life of me imagine why you need four speakers in the dining room, directly adjacent to the family room and right in the air travel path of the sound coming from your front two speakers, which should be the best sounding speakers in the house. The family room, like it or not, is what will be making the sound for the dining room. You will never want to be listening to one thing in the dining room and another in the family room, it will sound awful for everybody. If you did this, one benefit would be that you could get a nice two-zone 7.1 amp and be able to control everything from your phone.
