creme fraiche substitute

Okay, kitchen wizards --

I need a FAST substitute for creme fraiche for a yam and pear gratin I want to make this afternoon. It calls for one cup of creme fraiche. I googled for substitutes, and all I found were really recipes for making real (or almost real) creme fraiche, the fastest of which takes 6 hours, and all of which require cream or buttermilk, which I don't have at home today.

So I know I won't have real creme fraiche, but for this gratin, what do you think of maybe some sour cream thinned with a bit of milk? I don't have cream or unflavored yogurt, but I have sour cream, non-dairy creamer, skim milk, and soy milk. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.
