Can you give an idea as to how many will attend.

Probably a good number will want Decaf ?

In my coffemaker , I use 4 scoops of coffee to 6 cups of water.That's what is marked on the pot.

You will have to adjust to the coffee pot you are using.

If someone lends you a Coffeemaker, ask them how to measure.

I do the receptions and funeral lunches for our church. No one I know of would even consider instant coffee. We have a Bunn system that puts out hot coffee about as fast as you can pour water into it and put coffee in the filter.
How many are you expecting?
Can you borrow a big thermos cooler thing? It will keep coffee hot for a long time, and if you can make coffee in an ordinary drip pot and pour it in that it should work.
Or perhaps you can borrow pump pots from other members of the congregation, then buy the coffee at some place, there are any number of places that will sell coffee by the quart of gallon, then pour it into a thermos and serve from there....or borrow coffee serving pots.
Do you have a micro wave and a stove in the kitchen? You could even make "boiled coffee" using grounds and egg white and then pouring through a strainer.
Our church is an old church and we have lots and lots of heavy dishes and cups and saucers. When I took over as chair of the receptions committee, we started using the real dishes and flatware again. We saved huge $$ on every event, and the fellowship of washing dishes and talking together is a good thing.
But please don't use instant....and please please don't put a spoonful of coffee powder in the bottom of a cup and add hot water.
Oh....and skip soda...get frozen lemondad mix, or buy apple juice, and make pitchers of iced tea....

Ditto to what lindac said. No instant coffee ever. Although I say no to boiled coffee also.
Borrow several regular coffee makers if you have to...nearly everyone has at least one. I think I have about four.
Almost all coffee drinkers don't mind waiting for a pot to brew either. If you get 3 coffee makers that's 30 cups to be served at one time. Maybe more.

In my area, you can rent a 100 cup urn for the weekend for 12.00, or 48 cup for 8.50.

I agree, borrow or rent a coffee maker. It's just as easy as trying to boil water for a zillion cups of instant and instant is just icky.

I have a couple of thermal carafes that I use, I make a pot of decaf, put it in the carafes to stay hot, then make a pot of regular. We always use more regular than decaf, so that way I can make another pot of regular as soon as I need to, and that's just with one 12 cup coffee maker.

Or, as Jo mentioned, go to Dunkin Donuts or some such place and get their coffee to go, you can buy it in insulated boxes and carriers. Starbucks has it too, and I've seen it at a couple of bagel places too.

Still, I think borrowing or renting a big coffee maker is the way to go, with a pot of decaf on the side.

I second or third renting a coffee maker. I had to rent four of them for a huge work-related event and they were very inexpensive. I rented the hundred cup makers which I don't recommend as they take 45 min to an hour to make.
Rent a couple of 50 cup pots it will be less than 20.00. You will be able to keep them for 2-3 days so can pick them up and drop them off at your liesure.

The original post said the church did not have a large urn or coffee maker.

I'm in a small community here and it would be very possible for me to borrow one from another of the local churches, if you can't easily rent one. Most of the churches have a "coffee hour" either before or after Sunday services, so most have a pot available.

Thanks for all your responses and great ideas! I'll ask around to see who has what, and if necessary, will rent a large coffee urn for the Welcome!
