Toying with buying a waffle iron

OK, the great waffle shortage has started to hit home. I can no longer buy the whole grain waffles I was buying, but today I had some that I got out of my freezer. It's been a while, and noticing the poor quality of the waffles, along with thinking I could maybe save some money in the long run, I am toying with getting a waffle iron. I absolutely hate kitchen appliances in general, and my kitchen is tiny and I move a lot, so something has to be pretty great for me to be willing to invest in it. It would have to be something easy to clean and with a relatively low footprint. Also something that could make waffles that I could freeze and later toast. Anyone use their waffle maker that way? I would only make waffles on Sundays and then mostly just for me, and then freeze the rest for breakfasts later. And they'd have to be healthy, whole grain waffles.
