I haven't used it. But, the wonderful thing about Costco is they will take it back if you don't like it. Do you have a bit of the KAF around so that you could do a taste test? I'll be interested to hear the results.

Loves, I can hardly believe this but the Rodelle plant is about 40 miles from my home and the local Costco's here don't sell the cocoa either. I just ordered it from Amaz0n, a twenty four ounce jar for $14.93 with free shipping if you added something else to bring the total up to $25. That is much less than what Rodelle offers for mail order on their website.

So if you need something else from Am., check it out.

Id like to change cocoa not because while I was cleaning out pantry I dropped the can of nestles and since lids not tight I had cocoa EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!Is it good?We also dont even have a cosco here near me.

Just wanted to report back. I used the cocoa a couple days ago to make the World Peace Cookies from Smitten Kitchen. I stuck my finger in it for a taste, as compared to whatever I bought at the store the last time (not KA double dutch, IIRC) and the Rodelle was really very good. The cookies baked up beautifully and the chocolate taste was strong and pleasing.

If you have not tried this recipe, it is stunning. It originally came from Pierre Herme (of macarons fame) via Dorrie Greenspan. Quelle provenance!

I use all the time in my Chocolate Blackout Cake and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake. We picked up for about $5 for a 25 oz +/- at our local Costco. Formerly used Droste and Valhrona in these recipes. We could not taste any significant difference. The Rodelle was about 3 times the quantity for half the price

No Costco here either, but I bought the Rodelle at my local Miejer's. However, I spent $8 for an 8 ounce jar and I haven't even tried it yet!

I was getting low on the last cannister I picked up and was shocked to find out Costco didn't have it anymore. They told me it had even been reduced to clear it out! what a bummer. There's no way to get such excellent cocoa at such a great price!

Yes and it's the best. I wish I had purchased several of them. The smaller size (8 oz.) can be purchased on the Rodelle website (http://www.rodellekitchen.com/products/baking)or on Amazon. I contacted Rodelle and, apparently, the 1.54 lb. size was a temporary item at Costco prior to making that size available on the market. On Amazon, you can request to be notified when that size is available. Sounds like this is a must get item next time I am at Costco. I am making a Chocolate Guinness cake for St. Patricks day and it calls for cocoa.

They still have it at our Costco (Canada). I don't bake much using cocoa, but I buy it for Moe. He loves hot cocoa.

I picked up a container of the Rodelle Cocoa last year and was very impressed with it. My brownies have never been better using the recipe on the Rodelle Cocoa container. The only thing I change is the oil, I prefer to use unsweetened applesauce measured same amount as the recipe calls for in oil/butter. It eliminates a lot of calories and the brownies are chewy and tasty.

I should add that I was bummed the same cocoa was not offered at Costco past the holidays, good news is I can get it on Amazon! Thank heavens for Amazon...Lol

Rodelle Dutch Cocoa is far superior than any other I've tried & I bought it for years at Costco. However, the stores here have ceased stocking it & substituted plain Baker's Cocoa so I've had to send to Amazon for Rodelle's, though it is quite a bit more expensive there.

For decades, I have bought Droste's cocoa for the family birthday cake that everyone wants. We have lived all over the country, and I have always been able to find it in a grocery store. Now, only one store sells it here, and it is $12 a package. Must be why the other stores discontinued it. Wonder if Rodelle is less expensive and just as wonderful and if it can be found locally. Hmmmm.

I have used Rodelle for years and find it similar and often superior to Droste and Guttard rouge depending on the recipe. I buy it online from Costco. Please give it a try!
