Anyone use Cocoa Bean Hull mulch for potting?

Janice

I've always used the shredded pine bark in my pots but when we were at Menard's I spotted a luscious looking bag of the stuff (cocoa bean hull) and wondered if they wouldn't be good mixed in with the pine bark for my potted hosta!

Always on the lookout for a good mix! Oh, and in another thread along these lines, I saw that someone uses Premier ProMix in their hosta plantings in pots! All I could find was a ProMix that has a moisture expander in it and fertilizer and I'm thinking that couldn't be what was being used given the propensity for a bad winter experience. Please correct me if I'm wrong about that--someone? I'd love to use some sort of soil mixed in that would not be a bad situation here in Ohio during the winter!

Thanks for any help you can offer!!
