Does anyone use Kirkland Fish Oil (from Costco)?

I've always used one particular fish oil supplement, Eskimo-3, which has lime and rosemary flavor and I've never had any problems with it (any fishy taste or anything). It's a very good fish oil supplement but I can't get it locally and it's expensive to pay for the supplement plus shipping.

I hate to mess with something that works for me but I know the Kirkland would save me money. I've had good luck with Kirkland Glucosamine/Chrondroitin.

Has anyone used this brand and are you happy with it?

My husband uses it and is happy with it. I am supposed to take it but haven't started it just yet. I know Kevin had some before that wasn't the best tasting but he said this is a good one to take. Do you get coupons from Costco? I just got some in the mail yesterday--there was a coupon for the fish oil capsules in it.

Paula, where have you looked online for the Eskimo-3? It's available at iHerb for $13.98 for 105 softgels, and they offer free shipping for orders over $40. (I'm assuming you take other supplements as well?)

Vitacost has it for the same price, with $4.99 shipping no matter what size the order.

Don't worry about the brand name... use what works best! Whether you buy All-Clad piece by piece, or over time, it's easy to end up spending $800-$1500 on what amount to, let's be honest, FRYING PANS! They are just one small step in the making of your finished recipe. Both the All-Clad and Kirkland stuff are more than capable of handling serious daily use. (Obviously you're going to need to use nylon utensils with nonstick cookware if you want it to last more than a month! I actually use a rubber "spatula" instead of a nylon spatula; it works great in a nonstick pan.) I've used, on a daily basis, All-Clad Stainless, All-Clad LTD, and currently, the Kirkland nonstick cookware (Costco #783634) for sauteing, frying, roasting, etc. I consider all three to be excellent cookware, and I've noticed no difference in performance between them. Obviously the nonstick makes life MUCH easier. I prefer the Kirkland pans' handles. They are hollow stainless, and are easier to grab. The All-Clad ones are thin and V-shaped, and aren't as easy to work with. Which is a pain when you're doing 2 crepes simultaneously, each in their own pan, and Time Is Of The Essence. :-) I've got the Kirkland pans set up on a wall rack in my home kitchen, and it looks very sharp, so don't let the low price fool you... it's very high quality manufacturing, and if you're going for that "cool kitchen" look it's just as slick as the All-Clad stuff, in my opinion. I believe that good cookware (and a hot fire) can turn cooking from a chore into a fun, memorable experience. If you've got a junkyard of pots and pans, struggle to turn out consistently cooked food, and find it generally miserable, I recommend giving the Costco stuff a try. You get an entire set for the price of 1 to 1.5 All-Clad pans, you take it all home that day, and can immediately use it all. To sum up: buy the Kirkland stuff, and use the $1000 you saved on not buying an expensive frying pan... to buy higher-quality ingredients... French wine... organic produce... which will REALLY make for good cooking!

Just because it was on the news doesn't mean I believe it. As noted here - and in the other thread where fish oil was mentioned - changes have been noted. Our internist mentioned it some time ago because my husband's cholesterol has hovered very near the 200 mark a few times. We've made dietary and exercise changes. Both his parents have high cholesterol. His mother's side several siblings have had strokes, so of course it is a concern. But, I am so thankful to have a doctor that is not quick to push a pill. The Omega 3's can have an impact on cholesterol. Thanks Shee - I'm going to read up on the differences/benefits of the three mentioned and if there is not a significant loss of benefit to the one Boop linked, I think I would like to try that. I'm glad to know though that the one you are using has not caused problems.

You know it's funny my sister and mother always think that they have to buy the most expensive laundry soap and they tell me when I try to buy the cheaper brands "oh no put that back buy tide this stuff doesn't work". I ask why and then they both talk like they have marbles in their mouth they can't give me a true answer. So I decided to try an experiment on them. I secretly bought the Kirkland brand right and then when I got home I found an empty jug of tide so I rinsed it out and then poured the Kirkland brand into it. It was hilarious to cause also with my iPhone I video recorded what I was doing. So it was hilarious my sister said a few times "See tide is the best way to go see how clean your clothes get blah blah blah" and she went off justifying to me why it's the only way to go haha and I was like oh ya you're so right. You totally know what you're talking about haha. So the day the jug was empty I sent a text to both of them hahahaha it was hilarious cause they didn't know what to say. I swear it's almost like they didn't want to be seen buying the cheaper detergent even though they were using it over a month and were telling me oh tides the greatest haha and it was Kirkland haha. I swear I laughed for months. I swear it's funny people just want to be seen buying the the expensive stuff in this world but really it's all the same. Kirkland brands it's really good and you get more for less. For like two months they were using Kirkland unknowingly and their clothes were clean. People have to remember it's not like all their clothes are going to be covered in dirt or food right. The majority of people keep clean right. KIRKLAND ROCKS

We don't have BJs around here, just Sam's for a long time and Costco arrived a few years ago. Is BJs virtually the same in price, products, and policies? I never joined the Sam's because is was not convenient, and just not nice inside, kind of gloomy! The Costco is a nice experience to get to and shop in. Leaving is a pain with their checking your receipt, card, and cart, ugh. Just let me go! Re: the Sam's Club, why does the notice on the door say they will reopen the next day? Weird.

We use the Costco fish oil and are very happy with it.
It IS a great price... made better when they have a coupon for it!

Alisande, I usually order from Vitacost. This is the only supplement I order online regularly. All the other supplements I take, I can buy locally.

I think I will try Kirkland if the price is a lot better, which I suspect it is, and if I don't like it I'll go back to Eskimo-3. Thanks for the tip on iHerb. I could order 3 bottles at a time for the free shipping if I do go back to Eskimo-3.

Paula, I use the Kirkland Fish Oil Omega 3 softgels from COSTCO. I love them. I have never had an aftertaste and they don't bother my stomach at all. The bottle that I buy has a 400 count and I think they were $13.99.

I know they had a sale coupon for fish oil softgels but they were different ones than I buy. I only say that because I grabbed my usual bottle and they said the coupon wasn't for "that bottle"...but I thought that the cost was such a great deal I bought another bottle anyway. ~LOL~

I use Kirkland Fish Oil Omega 3 as well and love them. Also like their Calcium. It comes in smooth green caplets. They go down a whole lot easier than any other calcium pills I've tried. I couldn't get to Costco recently so I bought a small bottle of calcium from Kaiser and OMG, I woke up at 2am with the calcium pill I'd taken at 11pm stuck somewhere in my throat. You know, the feeling like it's sticking out of your back between the shoulders. Hate that feeling. I just drank tons of water and went back to bed ... not a good combination. I didn't get much sleep that night. :-)

Do you have the executive membership--think that is what it is called--I only started getting the coupons after I signed up for that card. I get a rebate check back each year that pays for the difference in the regular membership and the executive membership so I am really out nothing extra to get the few extras the executive membership gives you. I usually save at least $30 or more each time I use their coupons.
The coupon this month is for the Wild Alaska Salmon Oil capsules.
I buy the Kirkland Natural Fish Oil Omega 3 Concentrate softgels.
You can usually use the coupon on more than one item so I stock up--get 2 or 3 each time so I don't run out before the next coupon comes out. I think I ended up paying something like $8.99 for 400 softgels the last time I bought it. Sheila

I just have a regular membership (we don't buy enough to justify the executive membership) but I thought I got the coupons once or twice when I first joined (years ago). I will ask and see what they say.

Paula, I recently switched from the Kirland Fish Oil, which I liked, to the Kirkland Triple Omega, which I like a bit better.

It has the fish oil plus flaxseed, safflower and olive oil, with omega 3, 6 and 9.

If you check the label, it says serving size 1 softgel, three times daily suggested.

Oops! It's not the "Kirkland," but the "Nature Made" brand of Triple Omega, sold at Costco, that I like (see my post above).

... and many more things I'm sure I can't live without - LOL

On Web MD in one of their short little blurbs, it mentioned that if you have high blood pressure, do not take any fish oil caps. It could raise your blood pressure, don't know if it true or not, but I do know the capusles I took for a short period of time did not set good. May try Flax latter.
