Yesterday, I got a very nice suprise in the mail! Here it is!

Thank you, Annie! It will be cherished and used for many years to come!

Happy Pre Thanksgiving everyone!! Or should I say Prep Thanksgiving, lol. Half the day we're chopping and getting ready for tomorrow. We have 9 coming for dinner tomorrow. Kids are so excited!! Jeanne, I want to add my THANK YOU!! for this wonderful swap!! Sorry for my delay in mailing, but, I did love it :D Annie, THANK YOU for jumping in with all the wonderful games :) So much fun!! I hung my sparkly Lady Liberty up so she can enjoy Thanksgiving. Tomorrow night we put up the tree with family. A tradition we have had since I was a very little girl with my grandfather. Don't know how much "Black Thursday" shopping I'm going to get done. Probably none. My kids want such off the wall things this year, that most stores don't even have what they are looking for,lol. Where does the original TV signal originate from. Is it a broadcast signal, or cable, or satelite. My TV Tuner card has an infrared remote with it but I don't use it. It has a reciever that plugs into the computer. But since it is infrared if I wanted to use it in another room, I would have to get some IR repeaters to send the signal back to the computer. I do this with one of my Dish Network Recievers. I split the output to two TVs in two different rooms. The Dish Network reciever box sits in one room with one TV, and I put an IR repeater system in so the remote can be used in the other room. So just get a TV tuner card that comes with a remote. I feel your pain. Suggestion: try allrecipes.com,,they have some collections like Xmas extra with all of it together. That might help and you can do an advanced search where you put in name of recipe or main ingred you want or don't want in a recipe,,that could help you track down some lost stuff. Plus I like that they are rated and people tell how the dish turned out,,what improvements they made etc. I can bring up bread pudding without raisins or if I have extra bananas on hand I pulled it up using bananas in the bread pudding and got hits there too. About.com in their food section has some wonderful recipes that I've made for years and lots of collections too. Now you got your work cut out for you in deciding....that is the hardest part you know. I hope you have a great first hosting experience,,,just remember, it's just one meal,,this won't make or break a persons life. Why don't you ask some that are coming to "bring your favorite XYZ dish" to help you out? I've done those,,"I'll do the whole thing dinners" and by the time I'm thru, I'm too tired to enjoy it,,I'm broke and say I'm not doing this again. Or, how about ordering some stuff from Honey baked ham or whatever. Take advantage of Costco, they have great appetizers you can pop in the oven. I'm just thinking out loud here. Have a good one. Trudy, I thought that was the perfect recipe to display with the box! LOL I had to use two cards for the Strawberry Shortcake (very detailed instructions) but I cannot wait to make some of these.

I have to start looking up some more recipes soon. Been reading some of Mom's cookbooks like crazy LOL.

I am planning to use some of these recipes next time I go visit my sister and her kids. I am planning on making this dinner,

Caesar Salad with homemade croutons and dressing (the croutons have their own recipe and the dressing is with the salad recipe)
Chicken Fried Steak
Mashed Potatoes
Gravy
Corn
and for dessert....Strawberry Shortcake!

And easily add favorites
Or get rid of the not-so-favorite.

Remember to note on your cards
Any changes you make,
And add comments about the recipe itself.
These comments can be invaluable in the future.

Brad, I'm glad you can use it, it was just sitting in my basement waiting for a good home and it was so bright and colorful it was a shame that someone wasn't making good use of it.

I'm just excited that your Gram's recipes will find a home there, I love that you are keeping the family cooking history alive, and now I have your Gram's lemonade recipe to boot!

Thank you again, everyone!

It certaom;y will house a few of my Gram's recipes (the lemonade especially!) and a few others I'm getting off of websites and out of cookbooks. Mom took me to the library today and I picked up three more to look at LOL.

Rusty, I already had to make a note of how to make an egg wash for my strawberry shortcake recipe :). Mom has notes on her recipe cards too (mostly measurement adjustments).

Annie, I cannot thank you enough and I assure you the recipes will be used in good health! :)
