I never tried Wen but I like Malibu Well Water Action Sulfate Free Shampoo.

I have used L'Oreal Everstrong sulfate free shampoo now for almost a year. They have all different types and is not expensive.

I only use Frederick Fekaii products. They are pricey, but they work. I have dry frizzy hair that is colored. I use the Technician Color Care shampoo and conditioner. I also use the glaze, summer had, gloss, among others.
IMHO, if you have beautiful hair than anything goes. But if your hair is a challenge, the better products do make a difference.
It does amaze me just how much your hair affects your overall looks.

I've never used Wen, but I used Pureology for a while and found that it reduced frizziness.

I try very hard to use toiletries (and household products) that are cruelty free & not tested on animals. One line I I really like is 'Live Clean'. They are a 'green' company, their products are eco-friendly and produced from natural, plant based ingredients while focusing on renewable, sustainable ingredients. I use their shampoo & conditioner on a regular basis and am very happy with it... especially since it has a very reasonable price point. They also have a line of baby products and pet products.

I'm also a big fan of Aveda products, although they're a little bit more pricey. For days that I have the frizzies I absolutely LOVE their Light Elements Smoothing Fluid. I use one pump, rub my hands together, and then lightly run them over my dry hair. It immediately smooths my ends, get's rid of static or fly-aways (happens to me sometimes in the winter after flat-ironing), and gives a bit of shine. It's probably my all-time favorite hair product.

Thin, fine, staight, fly-away hair here. I almost wish I had frizzy hair! :)

Have never used sulfate-free. Wonder if that would help me. Actually, it is doubtful anything would. :(

I tried Wen and it was ok...what I hate about it is it's available by subscription only, so I cancelled and won't order from them until they allow you to order one thing at a time instead of signing up for a shipment x times a year.

For my fine and now curly hair, I've had good luck with Nioxin and John Frieda's Root Awakening shampoo and rinse.

Wen was offering the kit for 19.95 with free shipping at Christmas time so I tried it for the price, I currently use EverCreme and have used the other sulfate free poo from L'Oreal and Nioxin. I think it depends on your hair type and your water too, we have hard water. I have dry thin hair and I like Evercreme the best. I have been using the Wen for several weeks and it makes my hair limp and lifeless.

I too use the L'Oreal Everpure line and really like it. I've used it exclusively for at least a couple of years now, and can't envision switching. The price is certainly right, and it does not strip my color. Leaves my hair looking and feeling healthy.

I had a horrible experience with Wen. It made my hair greasy and limp, and yet it was actually more frizzy too. Plus it made my scalp itch like crazy.

Wen costs so much money I figured I would try to find a way to make it work. I read everything I could find online, I tried more pumps, I tried less pumps...nope, nothing worked.

I've also used the L'Oreal EverPure in the Smooth (orange) and like it. I get the Malibu at cost and probably wouldn't pay full price for it. For the amount of Malibu you get, at my cost, it's actually cheaper for me to buy that.

I just use Sauve Professionals conditioner in either volume or color protection on my ends.

I wrote quick the other day and should've mentioned L'Oreal so I wanted to come back and comment.

Maybe I'll try the L'Oreal. I use Biolage shampoo now, and it's fairly pricey, and while I like it, I find it does make my hair a little fly away.

I tried not washing my hair in the shower this morning, and I just don't feel clean not washing my hair every day!!

If you use L'Oreal or another one of the sulfate free shampoos, do you shampoo every day?

I use the L'Oreal Evercreme Cleansing Conditioner. Does a good job and much less expensive than Wen, plus it's available everywhere.

I shampoo everyday but my hair gets very greasy if I don't. I don't care for dry shampoos.

I have tried the Loreal shampoo and I don't care for it.
My hair does not feel clean.

I use Devacurl. I like it. Expensive, but it works well. I only use lowpoo every 2-3 days. Other days I just wet and condition, but curly/wavy hair is curlier and healthier looking that way. Seems hard to believe, but if I actually leave in some conditioner my hair comes out so much better.

I use (from Whole Foods) Alaffia's Coconut & Shea shampoo and conditioner. No sulfates or anything nasty, and the ingredients are virtually all in "English": Herbal infusion of Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), Vegetable Glycerin, Behentrimonium Chloride (and) Cetearyl Alcohol, Shea (Butyrospermum parkii) Butter, Virgin Coconut (Cocos nucifera) Oil, Panthenol (pro-Vitamin B5), Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, Potassium Sorbate, Essential Oil of Lavender, Fragrance, Limonene (from essential oil), Citric Acid.

We use Alaffia everything. Their moisturizers are miraculous, doing wonders for my oily/dry skin, DH's dry/cranky skin, and my mother's crazy/angry/irritable skin. Ditto the face wash. Their body wash (labelled as "Everyday Shea") is outstanding and cheap: a huge bottle is well under $10.00.

I use Pureology color care (the one in the lavender bottle). Kinda pricey but you only need a small amount, so it's more economical than it seems.

I just noticed the L'Oreal in the grocery store after reading this thread, so I thought, "What the heck." I could not believe how strong the scent is. No matter how much I rinsed my hair it smelled like I'd gone crazy in the dollar bin at the drugstore perfume counter. The bathroom smelled like that for the rest of the day. No thanks. I'm sure it's healthier to avoid sulfates, but a shampoo with that much added scent can't be an improvement.

Love and use the Wen hair cleanser. I don't subscribe, rather purchase as needed through Amazon. My hair feels amazing and the color seems to look good for a longer period of time.

My husband likes the scent when I use the L'Oreal product. ;)

That's odd. I barely notice any scent with the L'Oreal Everpure products.

It's not the Everpure, but the Everceme Cleansing Conditioner.

I would like to say a big "thank you" to Walnutcreek who mentioned Costco's shampoo on the "Poo Free" thread. I have been using their sulfate free shampoo ever since. My hair is just like Cyn's but I have noticed a significant improvement since I have been using this Kirkland shampoo. Plus it is free of almost all the nasty ingredients, it's inexpensive, and it smells good!

Wen user here for over two years. I order all of mine from www.qvc.com. Couldn't do without it. I highly recommend it.
