green links-adware?

I have found some green links in a site I know shouldn't have links. They are ads that someone else put there... You can see them when you do a mouse over. Is this adware & are they harmful or caused by a virus? How can I get rid of them.

Here is a good example of the green links. Not all pages have them. I would sure like to know what causes them & if I have something harmful.

I enjoyed this one too, Caroline. Thinman, hope you are getting those prices for your flowers too! Fresh food in season, home preserved the rest of the year is a good, healthy way to eat. Someone once said about Americans that we were the only people in the world who expected to each fresh food year round. I was annoyed at first but then realized he is probably quite right. Green and Farmer's Markets are a growing and good trend.

Hi casi, You used the search option and lots of junk was found, lets delete it all. Please rescan with AdwCleaner. Double-click AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool. Click Delete this time. Everything that was found will be deleted. Save and open files and approve the reboot. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.

When we moved into the house I live in now, the living room diningroom, den, solarium and hallways was painted a similar color....but the previous owners had tossed the paint cans and didnt' remember. After many false starts, including mixing blues and greens and greys, I finally took a door off of a cupboard and found a knowledgeable paint dealer and matched the paint! It was a certain tint base, but the color added to make the "light grey green" was black..... Who knew!

Its an intrusive yet safe way of Advertising on mouse overs, for CVS Pharmacy, when I visited that Green links page.

Is there anyway to stop it? Does it happen on everyone computer & if not why on mine.. What causes it?

sugar, I get the same thing and it is annoying, but I just ignore and try to keep my mouse away from words that trigger these ads.

I visited quite a few pages from sugar's link and didn't have any green links. I am using Firefox with Ad Blocker and Adblock Plus add-ons. Also, try right clicking on the green link and see if it gives you an option to opt out of them. That is what I did on one message board that I belong to and I don't see them anymore.

I went to the green links sugar_fl posted but with linux and my firefox with adblock plus I see no green links anywhere on the page.

Just tried the link with Opera and no green links using it, either. I think the few times I have encountered these has been with IE.

I installed adblock plus & it really slowed down my computer plus I still had the ads but just a small Icon that says "advertisement" I took it off & I'll just put up with the large ad & try to avoid the links. Now if it was something harming my computer I'd think different.

you need to add the proper subscriptions once you install adblock plus or it just is not doing much, install ad block plus then get the 2 subscriptions for it from this site.

you want easylist and easy privacy just click in the yellow bar where it says add to ABP

adblock plus should not slow you down, I use it on all of my computers with no problems. I would try it again it is an excellent tool and added security.
