It's Easy Being Green. Get Ready for Earth Day!
In honor of Earth Day (April 22), I thought I would have a little tribute to the color green. While a pale, almost neutral green is common in design, it takes guts and color savvy to really sock a punch to a room with green. These are a few great examples where the designer is a green maven.
P.S. I realize I’m misusing the word “green” here, but it was sort of fitting for the day!

This room has such a fun vintage feel without the burden of all of grandma's clutter. Keeping all of the other major pieces a stark white really showcases the green color.
I think I'm drawn to this room because it looks like it was inspired by the Farnsworth house. The green rug mimics what is going on outside the structure.
Pretty much for the same reasons as the picture above. Also, chocolate brown looks fantastic with green.
That's weird, I was just on Amy Lau's website ( http://www.amylaudesign.com/)this a.m. for another reason. Obviously, she is fearless when it comes to chartreuse. That rug is fab. This photo also reminds us that all shades of green look great with yellow.
This calm modern room probably would have seemed like the same old, same old without that brilliant hit of green provided by the chaise.
This yellow green wall really lends levity to what could otherwise become a darker room.
I am now officially stalking this hallway - it seems to fit into every ideabook I make. However, I still stand firm on the fact that this green door is the icing on the cake in this space!
Here green is worked into the room in a sleek and glamorous way. This room has such an interesting combination of modern with a whisper of regency. I also like the balance between the two green parallel walls here.
Here the pale green tiles add a bit of quirkiness to an otherwise very modern kitchen.
I know we all seem to mark this photo as a favorite, but I wanted to make sure I had a good example of how well green and blue work together in this ideabook.
Where does one acquire such a long, sumptuous, green bench? Lovely!
