oooohhhh sorry about the Saints, I did wear my t-shirt!!!

I had a lovely day, even with the rain...after DH made us scones, we went up to visit my dad and his wife for a bit, just a short visit. We went out for deli food, always a favorite with the kids.

We stopped off at Surfas, a very cool foodie store with all sorts of hard to find goodies. I even found some mini serving cups Oly (yasou) had been looking for. DH got himself a pizza stone, some barware,

New Orleans coffee, and some Irish Cashel blue cheese. I got myself a new chef's knife, two paring knives, new microplane, a Beef broth that TJs used to carry, 1/2 sheet cake pan racks, and a bit of Humbolt Fog goat cheese. Whats funny is we both went to the cheese counter at different times - neither of us knew the other had been there. Good thing we picked different cheeses. The kids were patient, and were mollified with chocolate and caramels, LOL. They put up with our visit because it was my birthday.

We went out to a local steakhouse for dinner with my inlaws, my FIL arranged for the singer to come sing me 'Unforgettable'. Thanks, FIL. I'm home now snuggling with my DH watching Memphis beat up the Lakers and typing on the netbook, its really really cold and raining out (46 degrees or so, I warn DS to treat it as preparation for east coast weather if he gets there for college LOL).

I want to say thanks to all my homies for the bday greetings .... Sharon H, much appreciated. SharonCB, awwww, you remembered my feelings about flowers. Grin! L2C4 and mtnester, I got it, and got a good chuckle explaining it all to the family. Rasha indeed! Lakeguy, Alexa already sent me a picture of something that would fit in the toolbox, but it's not appropriate for here, hee hee. Annie, um sure I'll take credit for the Lions....what do they play? bcskye, just add your bday to your member page and note the CF as one of two of your favorite forums and I'll catch your day. And Rita, thanks for the special song. YOU should have sung to me at dinner instead of the restaurant guy, I love the sentiment. Hugs!

I end the day with a smile on my face, appreciative of my family and friends who posted, called, and emailed me!

Jessica, that would be football, LOL. The Detroit Lions lost every single game in 2008 and had a 2-14 season last year.

Yup, the Lions were the first team ever in NFL history to compile a 0-16 season in regular play. It's a good thing Dad wasn't alive to see it, he'd have had a heart attack!

Sorry I missed your BD, but it sounds like you had a great time despite the rain. The next time you go to Surfas, you might want to try their snack bar, if you haven't already. I do like the beef broth at Surfas.

When you are talking about sports, I'm completely in the dark, although I do know of the Lakers.

I'm very late to this party, but still wanted to wish the evil one a happy birthday! I've been busy and haven't been on CF much the last couple of months, so I've missed a lot. I've kept up with the Saints, though, and I'm not blaming Jessy for that loss on Sunday. They had nothing to lose or gain by winning, so they didn't really try. Jessy, keep wearing your Black and Gold for future games --- the rest of the games are going to matter!
