Happy birthday to me!!!

Guess what's going on at my house? My old counters are off and the guys are cutting the hole for my cook top right now!

And for extra fun, my youngest daughter lost her first tooth at lunch:-)

AND the samples I've been waiting for for other accent tile arrived and I'm thinking one of them is THE one--I like them better than the mosaic, but I'm waiting until the counters are put in for a final vote from my Dh and I.

Love your backsplash. Did I miss what material it is? Did you say what stone/tile it is? You kitchen looks very similar to my kitchen before last - same color cab, black granite. Backsplash we used 4 diff limestones that the tile guy cut into 3x6 bricks. Still looking for a picture! I loved the look. Current kitchen just didn't allow for so much darker colors :(

Jasdip, the KT is listed as my favorite site, (Been a Garden Web member since I got my first PC, in !997.) but ever since iVillage bought GW, we never know what might change. A lot of KTers don't have a birthday listed on their profile; I guess that is their choice, or not. Any way, at least I still know when mine is! Susan, that isn't my helmet; it is my DGS's DW's. They ride a lot. He would never have taken me with out it. But I didn't really like the "Harley helmet hairdo" when I saw the pic. The only other time I rode was once, at their house, around the block, so this was my maiden voyage. I appreciate all your kind, and flattering, replies. If there is a reason for my being at this age, it is because I am not a worrier, and I prefer to use common sense and logic in all things and the BIGGIE: I truly believe that laughter is the best medicine. I love (good, clean) humor and try my best to spread it around. The cupcake girl's DH is the photographer, but he didn't take any of the refreshment tables. Happy Belated Birthday - sorry I missed it, but I was out doing gardening instead of going on line. Evidently today is Cesar Chavez Day in California, even though his birthday isn't until Thursday, March 31. Anyway, some of the schools are closed, and I think the post office is also. I think it's nice that your birthday came on Easter - that makes it extra special. My birthday often falls on Mardi Gras, which is very festive, but then it also often falls on Ash Wednesday, which is the opposite. Does yours ever fall on Good Friday? I like the blue flowers on your cake! Sounds like you had a good dinner also.

NO MORE TILE!!!!!

The gross stuff they use to make the seams. I just realized the guys butt is in the pic!LOL I watched them make one of the seams. A pretty interesting process.

THe final. My girls wouldn't leave.

Pic with the tiles we love in the background. I love the TILES, but I'm not sure the full GREEN will work with the stainless. The green isn't coming through our slabs as much as it did in the sample piece. I have another tile coming as well that has blue AND green in it, so I may end up with that one...or the mosaic I still really love. At least we are CLOSE to picking the backsplash. Unless my DH changes his mind...AGAIN!

What a great birthday. I'm guessing choosing that tile will almost choose itself now that the counter is in. The green is gorgeous. Won't work with stainless?

Emerald Pearl is the granite name
Rosie-the greens are "off" from the green in the slab. We're doing stainless squares and rectangles in a pattern and then using the glass as accents. I'm going to keep the green ones in my kitchen and see if they grow on me. The green tiles are from the Aquarius line from Interstyle. I think I may go see if I can find other samples(I had to order those) and see if there is a blue that works as well and maybe the mix of them will be perfect.
