Bubbe's Twin Granddaughters

The girls are growing; they'll be two in August. It seems I was just knitting their blankets for the shower and now, well, we all know how fast it goes. By the way, they are still very attached to those blankets. DDIL says they are the two make-sure-we-have them items in their lives. I get such a kick out of that.

Anyway, Sharon CB asked me about them in the Seder thread. They missed that night because of the traveling along with the dinner hour. LOL, DS runs a tight ship and they get to bed by 7:30 every night.

Oh more lovely photos RenÃ©e...the girls are so adorable now. I love this age, when they are old enough to able to communicate with you and are finding the world full of new and wonderful things.

That's a great pic of Jade peering over her daddy's back and that's a sweet one of Melissa on the swing.
I know all about the 'love of blankie' as my younger GD couldn't go anywhere without hers. And it wasn't even a small blanket but rather a little satin bedjacket that had belonged to her mother LOL. She couldn't travel or go anywhere without blankie.

That sounds like the best day ever, Larry! I remember following my grandpa around his big garden and thinking I was the coolest thing on the planet. Later, after he died, my grandma puttered with a few things here and there but always, always kept at least a couple of tomato plants, right up until the stroke put her in the nursing home. My other grandparents usually had a garden as well but it was small-ish (under 1000 square feet) and so neat & tidy. I thought for sure that wasn't a "real" garden. How big is the quilt that she likes at JCP? Check the measurements of the full-size quilt. Then measure from the floor on one side of her bed, up and over the bed, down to the floor on the other side. You might be able to use the full quilt; it would just be longer on the sides than a twin quilt. Might eliminate the need for a dust ruffle, and hide all the things kids stuff under their beds. I have a hard time with dust ruffles, so I've always just bought the next-larger size comforter/quilt. It hangs down longer on each side, but that's about the only difference.

Islandmom, I used two candle sconces over my DD's beds when we redid her room a few years ago. We already had them, and I just needed something small and simple because the headboards are tall. There was already a bedside table and lamp, so we didn't need an additional lighting source. They might give you an idea of what one would look like. They are white painted iron with three drop crystals around the bobeche. One bed: The other: Close up: Obviously you daughter doesn't want to read by candlelight :-) but I thought the two-armed sconce night give you a feel for what one double fixture might look like over twins. Bubbe, they are adorable, both of them. I also love the picture of Jade looking over Dad's back and the one of them together, in their striped "jammies".

Makayla also has her blanket, she calls it "nee-nee". It's the one Colleen crocheted and sent from Australia, a little the worse for wear but still loved. David's Grandmother also crochets so she has "put it back together" a couple of times now.

Funny, neither of my girls cared about blankets, but Ashley couldn't sleep without her stuffed Skunk. LOL

They are so sweet and cute and I know just so much fun!

My little GS will be two on June 29th. They keep you busy!

Beautiful little girls, I love the before bedtime picture, but they are all good.

gosh, Bubbe, it seems that it was only yesterday that they were born- how time flies. What beautiful little girls they are. (Will is 8 and still loves his blankie...but don't tell his friends.)

They are a treat indeed. I love them to pieces! Hope to see them on Sunday but I'm nursing a nasty head cold and if it is still blooming, well, it wouldn't be fair. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by either.

My friend who is the mother of two sets of twins has a theory ~ she insists that the first born twin always has the larger head -lol I tried to guess with your babies, but couldn't!
