outside heat of bluestar range

We purchased two 30" BlueStar RNBs not quite a month ago.

The range door, window, sides, and drip tray are all way too hot to touch after the ovens been on for an hour, even at only 350. There are days when my ovens run all day at 450-500.

Michael Allen,at the BlueStar service department, tells me warm temps are normal as the extra large oven capacity does not leave room for tons of insulation.

Fine, but they are not warm they are HOT! I used an infrared thermometer just to get an idea of the surface temp and I did get readings of 200 plus.

He also suggested I turn on my hood to help draw away heat. Yes, I already do that and I feel like being rather sarcastic and saying something along the lines of "DUH!"

I feel like they are blowing me off, which gives me a kind of sick feeling, especially after buying two of them!

What do all the bluestar range owners have to say about this surface heat? Any advice?

Thanks,

cecilB
