Can't access some sites, why?

I am unable to access some of my favorite sites, they come up on the screen, but the dates are old, and I know they are busy enuf to have the current date. Perhaps a week old already.

I have been playing a lot of solitaire lately, and wondering if perhaps I have hit something I shouldn't have?

There are 2 forums in particular, not this gardenweb site, but at least 2 others, that I access, and one there is a rolling of the screen, and can't stop that at all, and the dates are back about a week, on the other the dates are back about a week ago also, doesn't make sense at all. This just started a couple days ago, and am heartsick to think perhaps I have done something inadvertantly, which is what I am always afraid of.

I have IE 98, and OE6, serves me well, for the little keyboard time I use.

Is there anyone out there ever experienced this, or can give me some advice as to what I might have done?

Can think of nothing else I did might have done a boo boo.

Are you going to the sites via a shortcut maybe?...or your favorites?

Once you get the the site, can you maybe go the the 'Home' Page and then go to the messages? That should take you to the newest ones, I'd think.

Try clearing out your cookies. Open your browser; then Tools/Internet Options/Delete Cookies....

(Also, for good measure, "Delete Files" while you're at it.)

You likely need Adobe Flash Player - or if you have it perhaps you have an older version. My current version is 11.6.602.180 and I see the program. Edit:- pkponder beat me to it, sorry for a double post offering the same fix. This post was edited by owbist on Sat, Apr 6, 13 at 16:55

If it's anything like mine you have to go to the web site and find the place that says hold it for so many days. That way when you download it, a copy stays on the net for a few days.

Thanks for responding. I just looked at the programs in the Uninstall window, and the only one I don't recognize is UPSMON Plus for Windows. Maybe it has something to do with my UPS account . . . in any case, it was installed in 2010, so it probably has nothing to do with this. A little while ago I was able to get to the KT without incident. I'm hoping this lasts. Thanks again.

You might try this.
Open IE, look at: tools>internet options>general>temporary internet files>settings>check for newer versions of stored pages (radio button) and see what it is set on, change if necessary.

When I experience some goofy unexplained problem I first go back to a method left over from my main frame experiences -- power down and briefly unplug the bugger. It is surprising to me how many glitches respond to this.

(BTW, I have also used this to solve a newer TV problem once and I have a very old TV that must be unplugged every time it is used.)
