Andrea, After speaking with Sony support this afternoon, my dad had a cyber shot and Viao computer (I now have but don't use), they suggested the links I provided to you. At a minimum it should allow access through device manager. As I suggested above you can get a USB card reader, sorry I didn't clarify for older cards as well. I appreciate the way you treat folks that try and help you. It is no wonder others now refuse to help you. I may be wrong but since you won't try what is suggested, as usual, we will never know. You have more nerve then I do. I also was forced to upgrade from the wonderful XP this week. After seeing 8.1 I was aghast at how far removed it was from my XP experience. I don't do any outside gadgets, don't even know how to take a picture on my cell phone, so this touchy feeley thing is way out of my league. I located a new computer with Windows 7 available in it, hired a guy to hook it up and am cussing my way through 7 now. I lost my old (but loved and user friendly) photo processing program to boot. Will have to deal with that when picture taking season is upon me....Julia, it sounds like you had at least had enough experience with the touchy gadgets to not be shocked by no mouse (LOL). Hi Emma, Nice to meet you. "Smiles" I have read while doing my search on my problem with Windows Update that there were people who didn't want it automatically to run. This computer is still under warranty and they don't want me to make any changes to the updates. I had never had any problems with it until now. I understand that with some things, it is best to do it your way and that is just a preference on your part and I see nothing wrong with that. I went in and removed something last night that was running at startup and I felt it wasn't necessary, so I shut it off from the program itself. I never set it to automatically update it was like that when I bought the computer. I would have wanted that problem fixed anyway. With it being a problem I wasn't sure how it would have affected the update with it being set the other way. (not being set automatically). That was my thinking when I wanted it fixed. It's fixed now and I am very happy about it. Thank you for your input I really appreciate it. thirdfrt!!!
