Since you've already got RH Silver Sage on the walls, why not get RH Silver Sage or coordinating colors for towels? They're running a 20% off coupon every weekend in Dec., and then in Jan. all bath items will be 20% off.

I was in there on Tuesday and they had the Eucalyptus color towels in one of their bathroom displays against the Silver sage and they looked great. The towels were actually already 30% off. I wonder if the coupon would stack on top of that. Then I could stomach the $28 for a bath towel!

Do you know the brand of the grout? Thanks for letting me know that the tile size is 12 X 12 since it sure looks nice. Just a beautiful remodel that you did yourself as nice as a professional from the pictures I see.

lynn2006 - I am sure I will be back at Lowes in the next week and I will check the brand of tile. I remember that the color was called Tuscan Bone. There was also a Tuscan White that was slightly lighter in color. The grout is PolyBlend Sanded grout.

Scoutfinch, I think it looks really peaceful and coordinated.

I have a specific question--how are you liking that tub? I am on a mission to replace a tub that looks just like your old one (well not blue) and everything I see is very expensive, even the acrylic ones, which I don't quite understand. We're big bath people here so I want it to be something that will hold up. Any advice?

pamela - so far we *really* like the tub. The thing that I hated most about the tub in our old home was that it was SO shallow. It was really only good for bathing the kids and we wanted a soaking tub for this house. I thought that I would miss having a cast iron tub (the old house did, but the blue one was steel) but I like that this tub is warm as soon as you fill it. The cast iron tub was always cold when you leaned back.

I can't really speak to durability yet, since we've only been using it for a couple of weeks. It does have a textured bottom, though and I know those can be hard to keep clean over time.

The only negative is that it's capacity pretty much drains our hot water heater!

Thanks for your answer, I am going to check out that tub. I looked at your bathroom pictures again and you really did do an amazing job. I am trying to learn how to get that finished attractive look without spending a ton. I can do that with furniture but when it comes to these specialized items (like bathtubs and tile) I have trouble figuring out the best route. Though I did sit in a $12,000 tub at a local showroom and I've pretty much ruled that one out!

pharaoh - I missed your question about the carpet tiles. It seems like they put the carpet tiles on the wall to disguise the broken smoked glass mirror that was underneath!

jane_ny - the mirror also came from Lowes and is part of the same series as the vanity and the cabinet that we still have yet to hang - Allen and Roth Chesapeake. The vanity was $240 on clearance, the mirror and cabinet were $58 each, also on clearance. I notice they do still have that style in the store, though.

Arlene - We never actually lived here when the bathroom was that color, so I didn't get that attached to it, lol!!

I can just see the logic there: What an ugly mirror! How dated! What could we possibly cover that with? Not paint, that would be so tacky! How about carpet? Blue carpet! Yeah!

Honestly. I think the people who designed that bathroom were on drugs. New one looks fabulous. Good job.

Your 'before' photos show a tub that looks a lot like ours - but ours was an icky green! It may not be the same, as this one is reasonably deep. But it has a straight back which is very uncomfortable when trying to soak. I really envy you your deep new tub. We couldn't afford to take ours out due to flooring issues. So we just had it repainted instead.

I can't get over those blue carpet tiles on the wall. I had to get my DH to come over and look at such an amazing (and appalling) sight! I thought our original bathroom was ugly - the POs had a bright pink fluffy toilet seat cover in a green and yellow bathroom!? - but I think yours has beaten ours for the 'most awful decorating', hands-down......

lynn2006 - sorry that it took me SO long to get this information, but it's been a little busy around here with the holidays. I double checked the tile at Lowes and the brand is called Style Selections and the color I have is actually the Tuscan White Item #197381. It comes in a 12x12, 6x6, and a 3x12 bullnose. There are also some matching decorative accents. The Tuscan Bone is slightly darker.
