Thanks for the advice. I was hoping someone would recognize the company. The website had other photos of furniture that I didn't download to my computer. I have since learned to rename the photo with the website so this doesn't happen again. I have a rather large porcelain sink with double drainboards (paid $15 for it--woohoo!) that I want to build a base for to use outside near the grill and I really just wanted to "borrow" some of their ideas. As I recall, the furniture was rather pricey, but really unique. If anyone recoginizes the company, please let know. Or if you know of another source for inspiration for that kind of outdoor sink base, please pass on the names. Best, Susan

(I use thunderbird) Also, can we save a complete thread here? Seems like the clippings thing just saves one message? And the searches lose pictures when they are old? Okay, here's the tutorial. Its long because I am trying to be very detailed. Its not as complicated as it might look. I'm just going thru every step in detail. Tutorial: Getting a pic from your PC-Picasa desktop app to Picasaweb to GW. Emphasis on Picasaweb-to-GW Upload from Picasa3 Desktop to Picasaweb Step 1. browse in your library to desired picture(s). You can do this on the page with all pics in your library. Just select the pic(s) you want. Or it can be after you have double-clicked to view a particular picture. Select the pic and "hold" it in your tray. (green icon). Press the UPLOAD button. You will get an Upload dialog box something like this: Step 2. Choose upload options (a) by default the target (web) album title will be named the same as the folder of the picasa3 library. In above example, it was "clematis" because that is where the picture came from on my PC. However, on picasaweb, I keep a folder just for pics that I post on GW, called SHOWGW. That way I don't have to think about deleting or moving anything and messing up the GW thread with a red-x. So in above screenshot, at the top where it says "upload to this album", I have already used the pulldown to pick the existing ShowGW album to use. This dialog box can also be used to create a new album called "ShowGW" or whatever you want. It looks a little different than above. The default access is private or unlisted. Make sure you select Public (b) select the size you want. I am showing you the 4 size choices they provide. 1024 pixels is the default and that is fine. I used 1600 in this case. When they say "original size (slowest)", that's assuming the original size is larger than 1600 or you are on dial-up. Step 3. Press the upload button. You will get a progress bar dialog and pic(s) are copied to picasaweb. Linking from Picasaweb to GW Step 4. Go to your picasaweb space and access the picture you want to embed in a GW conversation. Picasa3(and older) offer a quick link. On the upper right corner of Picasa3 there is a link "Web Albums" that will get you to your web albums. If you go "back" to your Picasa3 library, that folder will have a more direct link to go directly to the web target folder that you just uploaded to. In my case I got a link to "View 'ShowGW'" Step 5. Double-click on the picture from the album page to generate a picture page like so: Step 6. Click on the "Link to this photo" link to expose the choices on how to link. Step 7. For this exercise, you want EMBED IMAGE. Not link. (a) First Check the Hide Album box - unless you want viewers to see an extra link to your entire album. I generally do not want that so I check HIDE ALBUM. (b) then select the size of the picture you want to show. It is always a clickable thumbnail-type picture as I am doing in this thread. I have used 400px in this thread. You can try other sizes too. I like to use a size big enough that can be viewed without the viewer having to click (but they can if they want to see it larger). (c) then -- and this must be LAST -- select the entire line in the box that starts "a href". Right click on it and select COPY (or do CTRL-C keyboard shortcut if you're into that) Step 8. Now you have the all important html code in your windows clipboard buffer. Go to the Gardenweb page where you are posting and in the message window, right-click PASTE (or CTRL-V). Might look something like this: And you're done! Preview your message and you should see your embedded image. Like this: By the way, that picture I uploaded to picasaweb as original size (3MB). I am confused, however, because I showed uploading it as 1600KB. Lets ignore that for the moment. If you click on the picture, you are viewing it in my picasaweb showGW album. Then you can click on the zoom button and get some closeup precision. I don't usually upload so large, but I was curious and wanted to see. Hope this helps and I didn't overwhelm anyone. How Do I Add Pictures to My Posted Messages? Adding pictures to posted messages may be easier than you thought. Some forums allow you to add a picture directly from your computer. Those "direct upload" forums are listed under GardenWeb Galleries, and display a camera icon by their name in the main forums list. All other forums require you to store the image elsewhere on the web, then link to that image using html codes in your posted message. The Short Version Adding a picture on any forum Upload your image (60K or less in size) to somewhere on the web for storage. I copy a URL, then type in my shortcut "xim" and ShortKeys Lite inserts , or "xu" inserts . I then paste the URL in between the ""and add a descriptive phrase between the ><. fast easy and no typos many macro programs offer similar abilities.> The Detailed Version Adding Pictures to Messages on Forums Without Galleries (Like Hot Peppers Forum) Step 1: Prepare your image for uploading Make sure your image is in either JPG or GIF format (with .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif file extension), and is no larger than 60K. If your file is larger than 60K you will need to reduce the file in your photo editing software. The softwareÂs help files will give specific instructions. You can also add any image copyright or text desired using image editing software. Save the file to a new name before reducing it so you retain the original version. Step 2: Upload the image from your computer to somewhere on the web Option 1: Use the free space provided by your ISP. Most ISPs provide free space for their subscribers. Check their support website for instructions on setting up and using your personal web site space. This is a great option because you normally have plenty of storage space and the images will always be available for viewing. Option 2: Use image hosting websites such as FotoTime, WebShots, PictureTrail, or Yahoo Photos. There are many image hosting sites on the web. Follow the uploading instructions provided for the particular image hosting website. Some services do not allow displaying images stored on their site on other pages (like GardenWeb posts), some charge an annual fee, and most limit the amount of images stored, so be sure you choose a service that fits your needs. Image hosting sites mentioned are examples of possible options, and not endorsed or recommended by GardenWeb. WebShots does not allow displaying images in other sites (even with a paid membership) so you are not able to show images from WebShots in GardenWeb posts. You can add a link to your WebShots page that contains the image. FotoTime allows displaying images stored on their service only for paid subscribers. Option 3: Use Hortiplex. Hortiplex is a database of plants which is part of the GardenWeb family of websites. It allows GardenWeb users to post pictures by scientific name. For specific instructions, see Hortiplex help pages. Option 4: Use the GardenWeb galleries available on other forums. You can post images to other GardenWeb forum galleries, but these images are not stored for long, so this is not always the best option. For example, your posted message on Hot Peppers forum may stick around for a couple of months, but the image on the Garden Photo Gallery may disappear after two weeks so youÂre left with a "broken" image link in your forum message. Always make backup copies of any images stored online! Step 3: Add your image into your gardenweb message Copy the image address (URL). Go to the web page displaying the image you uploaded in Step 2. In Internet Explorer, Right-Click on the image and select Properties to show the image address. Select the entire URL (including the second line if necessary), then select "Ctrl C" to copy it to the Windows clipboard for the moment. Cancel the properties window. Switch back to the Post New Message form. Paste the image address into the message as a link or a displayed image. Option 1: Make a link to the image using the URL space in the New Message form.
