Vitabath air tub or Bain air tub

I am in the process of buying materials for my bathroom remodel and I have narrowed my tub selection down to two tubs. The Vitabath Le Paradis or the Bain AMMA Oval 6638. I can't find anywhere on the web to check pricing for the Bain tubs. Does anyone know of a web site that I can get pricing from? Also, does anyone have a Vitabath air tub that they can tell me their thoughts on. How you like it, if there is anything you don't like, would you buy it again, and so on? Please let me know. Thanks.

Bain does not allow distributors to show their products' pricing on the web, so you have to contact a distributor directly who usually wants you to come into their showroom. Which I did. One of the tubs I had them price was the Amma Oval, but it was the 7242 with a price tag of $3006.50. While it's not the size you indicated, it should give you an idea of the cost (at least in NC).

What do you think of stone bathtub for your bathroom? Someone shared experience that he spent US$300.00 for Kohler Villager Cast Iron Tub, so I think it is too expensive for Bain at the price about US$3000.00, which definitely could be available in stone too.

Actually, the producers would be able to custom make different design for you too. You could select design from their website or provide picture or drawing for duplication.

We went with an Americh Turo tub. It was the only one that was 18 inches high, instead of the 20-22 typical of tubs that have the whirlpool features. This tub can also be ordered with a whirlpool, but I didn't look into that since we wanted a plain tub. So far, it's working out well as a tub and shower combo. However, it does feel deep if it were filled to capacity - I may worry if I had small children (but, I don't have kids, so I'm not sure at what age I would feel comfortable).

The Bain Ultra tubs (and I would think most airbubble tubs) are very low maintenance unlike many whirlpool tubs that need monthly cleansing cycles. Resale-wise I think alot of people are looking for a master bath with a tub that does something therapeutic, so I don't think it matters if it's air or whirlpool. If you're not worried about resale, I would say do what you feel is right for your lifestyle. Having the air gives you the choice of using the tub as a soaker or as a therapeutic option if your back is hurting, you've pulled a muscle, etc. With the soaker, soaking is the only option you have. I personally, like to leave my options open. Just my $0.02.

Do you have a specific tub in mind? We have a Bain ultra air tub and I couldn't imagine showering in it every day. The acrylic bottom along with the added height of the side.... to me it seems like an accident waiting to happen. I guess it would depend on the height of the tub you had in mind. In regards to the automatic air purge, it only happens after the air cycles off. You wouldn't be turning the motor on when you shower so the automatic thing wouldn't happen.

I have a large 2 person jacuzzi 6 foot tub. It is the bellavista. It has 8 jets and an in-line heater. The heater is a must as the water stays nice and hot. I love the big tub and am planning on getting a maax kashmir freestanding tub for my new home. It has air & jets. The new tubs have the drains for the jets at an angle so they drain better. That was the problem with most of the bacteria build up. My tub is about 5 years old. I also have an outdoor hot tub that I can't live without. I have chronic pain and they both do wonders for my health. I highly recommend them both. I know that the big tubs take up a lot of room in a bathroom, but it all comes down to want you want. It is a choice that I have been very happy with.
