Posting a picture to the forums?

I am a regular on the KT (Kitchen Table) and I now have a digital camera but I don't know how to post pictures to the forum. Can someone spell it (in laymans terms) for me?

I really appreciate the help,

I use imageshack to host my pictures but there are several sites that are similar like photobucket. When you save your picture to your account there each picture is given several links, some say thumbnail, for forum, html, direct, bb code. For this forum it has to be in html form. So you simply choose the link for forums that is the html form and copy it and paste it here in your reply.

you can upload your pictures directly from your pc to your account. Imageshack is totally free.

Joey, One of the easiest ways to provide your photo to be embedded into a post is to upload it onto an image hosting site such as Photobucket, Flickr, etc. That should be pretty straight forward, and the individual sites will give instructions on how to get your photos uploaded to their site when you sign up. Once your picture has been uploaded, find its web address by right clicking on the image and copying the image location. Some sites may even provide your image's address in a text box below the photo for your convenience. Let's say, as an example, that the address of the picture you want to post is http://somepicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg To embed the picture into a post, use the command: img src="http://somepicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg"> If your picture is too large to fit nicely into the text page, you can add a width attribute. The command with the width attribute would look something like: img src="http://somepicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg" width=600> Note that I had to use special characters to get the commands above to show up here without turning into pictures, but you can use them as shown (with the correct image web address, of course). _____________________________________________ Foolishpleasure, I'm not sure if you are just kidding, but in case you aren't, Google it!

1. You can go to the Gallery link at the top of the page and follow the directions for posting there. 2. You can post within a message here by using HTML language. but it's necesary to have the photo stored someplace on the Internet so that you can link to it. The HTML code is: *img src="URL"> except you have to replace the leading asterisk with a backward facing carat (the mirror image of the last character). If I hadn't made that change, you wouldn't be able to view the code. You also have to replace URL with the specific, full web address of the photo (and you leave the quote marks as shown). I have my pictures stored in a free account at photobucket.com. When you upload a photo to the site it creates a tag at the bottom of the picture. If you cut and paste the tag line into your message here, it automatically inserts the HTML language and you don't have to bother typing anything. Hope that's clear.

Joe, Once you get your pics copied to an online site (Image Shack, Photobucket, etc) there is a test forum where you can practice to get it all right. With Photobucket, if you copy and paste the 'TAG' under the pic, it will place the pic within the message. Also, with Photobucket, you would copy and paste the URL below the pic to the Optional Link URL box below your message, it will provide a link to the pic as opposed to it appearing in the message. Nice! Left a comment on Photobucket for you. I have a photobucket account, but I prefer Flickr. Flickr lets you have 200 photos for free, and I prefer their user interface. Tinypic.com is the simplest, IMHO. Just go to their site, click browse, choose your picture from wherever you have it stored, such as My Pictures, etc. Then tell it to upload, which takes seconds, then click on the top line of the codes. That will let you copy to your forum message.

Susan You can upload your photo from yyour computer to the KT gallery (see mine if you want to) I think there is a size limit so you might have to resize your photo.Once it is in the galler you can bring up the photo then save it to your favorites and use that link to post in a post on the other side in the discussions.
Then you can see sample attached

BTW this is a "mouse house" I made when my Sammy was with me he would sit in front of me and move my mouse around so this "house" allowed me to control it

I use Photobucket free.

Once you have signed up for an account and uploaded your pics there,...just

1...just type your message,...or in this case a reply to this post, changing the Subject of Posting line by one character.
2...open Photobucket in another tab
3...find the pic you want to post in the message,
4...click on HTML code found in the third box below the pic. It will say copied in yellow,
5...go back and paste the HTML in your message box,
6...hit preview,
You will then see your message, and the actual pic,
and
7... lastly hit submit.
