Kay: Oh my. I'll admit that I've done that myself. Thought I had uploaded to my computer, put the card back in and hit the format button to clear the card. My "what was I thinking" moment. Not to mention, forgetting to put the card back in the camera and heading out to the garden and wondering why the camera won't work. My "duh" moment. LOL. Marg: Scary not to find pictures. Once you get up in those ranges, the difference is not that noticeable between, say 20Mbps and 40Mbps. If you are downloading a really large file, the higher speed will allow it to download faster, and the higher speed means less buffering of videos once the video has started. However, the display of pages by your browser may not be perceptibly much faster. It's not that there is something necessarily wrong with your computer...it's just that the software you are using (the browser) still takes a certain amount of time to process the information and can be a limiting factor. In effect, when you go to another page, the "input" queues up faster at a higher speed, but it can only be processed so fast by the computer. A couple of years ago I had a 3Mbps connection, and then I switched to a 35 Mbps connection. Even though my current speed is more than 10 times my previous one, it doesn't mean the pages load 10 times faster. In fact, pages seem to load only a tad faster now than before.

Some ISPs do require you to 'sign up' before you can FTP. I don't usually FTP directly from any program so I can't help you there. But the first time is the hardest, after you have everything set up right it should go easier.

With Windows XP you can resize your pics by right clicking on the pic, go to Send To and select Mail Recipient... You will then have the option of making your pic smaller... It will come up as an Attachment in an e-mail... From there you can drag the Attachment to another folder or your desktop then delete the e-mail. If you are using your cell phone to take pics to post on the internet make sure you turn off your GPS first !!!... There are bad people out there who can retrieve the GPS coordinates from the pic and find out just where the pic was taken, down to the room in your house! Hugs, Rita
