Can't Find Internet Explorer

I've been using Firefox but want to switch occasionally to Internet Explorer. However, I now can't find it. It shows up in the list of programs but when I click on it it switches immediately to the google home page. The same thing happens if I click start and then type in iexplorer or internet explorer--the google page comes up.

When I try to reload internet explorer from an internet site it tells me it is already on my system. So it appears to be loaded on my computer but just not accessible. Help, please? Thanks.

I'm running Vista.

is what you run

Whatever its home page is set to is what you will see when it starts up. So if the home page is set to Google.. that is what you see.

If you want to change its home page, type into the address bar www.msn.com or what you want for the home page.. go to the page then typically click the gear on upper right and select internet options then you will see where to set the home page, set it to the page you have open by pressing the 'use current' button.

It probably is IE, you have to have a home page. Mine is set for yahoo and yahoo comes up all the time . My neighbor had this same problem. Some how her home page had been changed and she didn't recognize it.

What usually came up when you clicked on IE?

No that article did not apply. Mine shows "Mod Name urlmon.dll". Zep, can I safely remove IE8 and the update via Control Panel? If so, will it automatically roll back to IE7, or how do I go back?
