Oh my goodness, Karen, she's so grown up now! And absolutely beautiful.
I remember a great photo of Alexa's son in a pirate costume.Was that last year or two years ago? And the fantastic costume Deb made for her daughter. I'm looking forward to more pics.

Whoa! Don't scare me like that. I almost died of cuteness. What a sweet fairy princess and pretty Grandma. Wow, Maggie's eyes are amazing.

I can never tell what the kids are supposed to be unless they are something obvious like a baseball player or a pirate.

I've just gotten off the phone with the radio station and they were nice enough to tell me who the winner is and, unfortunately, it isn't Marty. I was, frankly, floored that she hadn't won by a landslide, but she didn't. I do honestly think that she had the best costume and thank all of you for your kindness and efforts to help her with your votes. She told her sis, (my bestfriend) last night that the best thing about this contest would not be winning, but the wonderful kindness, support and thoughtful comments from you all here on GW. Thanks everyone for all the fun ideas. For a while there I was considering having DH be a king and I'd be a court jester. But, the party is on a Fri. night, which makes prep a little more tricky, decided to keep things simple also since we're hosts... so we are going to be the Skipper (DH) and Gilligan (me) from Gilligan's Island.

several years back friends had a halloween party every year that was top of the line. everyone came dressed to the hilt and the prizes were just excellent - not to mention the food and atmosphere. they went all out - moved furniture out of the house, turned it into a total thrill house. i miss those parties, but most of all i miss my friend. every year everybody tried to top their costume from the year before. a few times i won a certain category, but my best costume was a decomposing bride, which one me three prizes that year. i got an old wedding dress (it so ugly to begin with) from a thrift store and kind of made it worse with more ri[ps and tears and what not, stained it a little to make it faded and older looking. my make-up was amazing - total death face - my arms and hands all veiny and just gross. my hair was a tangled mess and teased in places with a few fake bugs thrown in and the veil, which was really just an odd piece of tulle with one of those kiddie tiaras, was in sad shape. i wore these funky shoes which were at one time white, but i muddied them, and then tied to the back of one of them, i dragged another one which made it look like my foot was dragging, and limped around throughtout the night. i carried a bride's purse stuffed with old cards - the envelopes that were yellowed and (fake) torn money. even my wrist corsage was pathetic. maryanne

If you haven't found the tux/suit coat yet, I would definitely be looking at the thrift stores. Around here, a man's suit jacket would run about $5. Do you have a local theater company? Some of them rent stuff out at Halloween time, to pick up some extra $$$. A tux coat just might be one they'd rent out. Of course you can rent a real tux coat at any wedding store, too, but probably for more $$. Two of our local theater companies were holding yard sales to get rid of some of their excess costuming. One was last month for San Diego Christian Youth Theater - one of my cast moms went down and picked up some things for us. One such "goodie" was a man's suit coat that had been cut back into an old fashioned suit coat. Another sale is today, and a different mom is going in search of a similar coat in black, or one that she could cut down. Donna

I agree, she's so cute it's scary. Just think about her being a teenager, that's really scary!

I have a couple of scary pictures too, I'll make a different post so maggie and Grandma can have this one all for themselves. She deserves it.

She is so cute and has the prettiest eyes! Just a very pretty little girl and I know just as much fun.

I will post the Mario Bros.pics soon. Mario and Luigi, the 2 yr. old was Luigi and I called him Lou. He put his hands on his hips and said "I am not Lou, I am Lu-e-she."

Aren't they fun?

We just have the best time.
