Oh my goodness, Karen, she's so grown up now! And absolutely beautiful.
I remember a great photo of Alexa's son in a pirate costume.Was that last year or two years ago? And the fantastic costume Deb made for her daughter. I'm looking forward to more pics.

Whoa! Don't scare me like that. I almost died of cuteness. What a sweet fairy princess and pretty Grandma. Wow, Maggie's eyes are amazing.

I can never tell what the kids are supposed to be unless they are something obvious like a baseball player or a pirate.

I've just gotten off the phone with the radio station and they were nice enough to tell me who the winner is and, unfortunately, it isn't Marty. I was, frankly, floored that she hadn't won by a landslide, but she didn't. I do honestly think that she had the best costume and thank all of you for your kindness and efforts to help her with your votes. She told her sis, (my bestfriend) last night that the best thing about this contest would not be winning, but the wonderful kindness, support and thoughtful comments from you all here on GW. Halloween lunch - coordinating costume

Thanks for all the comments and compliments! It was an authentic outfit, and I bought some of it in Fredericksburg, Texas and some of it at Alpine Village in Torrance, where we had a German breakfast/brunch a couple of weeks ago. I bought my shoes there (see photo below), as well as the shirt I am wearing. Dina took the pictures of me at work, and so they were taken in my office, including a closeup of my shoes. Dina wore a costume similar to yours, Annie! I like the "Dale Pickle" sign! Yesterday we went to Comikaze Expo athe the L.A. Convention Center downtown and I took German sandwiches with us! It was very crowded there, and I was glad we did not have to wait in line for food. Kevin wanted to see Kevin Smith there, but the line for his conference room had over 2000 people in it, and the room only held 700, and so I had Kevin wait next to a water fountain next to a Ladies room while I looked for the men's room down the hall. As it turned out, where Kevin was waiting was exactly opposite the door where Kevin Smith was entering for his conference, and so we got a close look at him. I told Kevin to talk to him or ask him a question, but he was too shy, I guess. So we got to see him but not hear him speak. We also saw Elriva there - she was there last year as well. I bought a scimitar for my pirate outfit, which I will be able to wear next year. I have worn a pirate outfit before, but I never had the right sword. I am thinking of making a quiche this morning with the leftover pie dough I have from the apple pie I made last week. I made enough dough for two pies, and the leftover dough needs to get used today. I guess I could freeze it, but then I don't know when it would get used. Lars

Good for you! It sounds really cute! One time years ago a coworker brought in a cute little reindeer made out of a little girl's sock. It had red felt antlers and wiggly eyes, a pompom nose and painted on mouth. It was stuffed and the opening tied with lace. Her sister in law was selling them for something like $12 bucks each! I went out and got a six-pack of socks and made a dozen of them for less than the lady wanted for one! Donna

PAULA!! OMG! OMG! OMG! That is Exactly what I'm looking for..a zillion thanks! I got this idea while up in PA this past 3 weeks at my sons. My 6 yr old DGD has a little game called Barrel of Monkeys that we were playing & the 'light bulb went on'. Wouldn't you know another "Pennsyltuckian" came to my rescue. I've gotta quick order it before it's gone. Thanks! Patti & Phyllis.. Not counting on a prize winner this year (allbeit, this would be my 6th 1st place win with Ernie in 6 yrs and the 8th for me-I won first for 2 yrs prior to the E-man.) but Ernie had leg surgery last year & it just about did him in, by night's end. It'll seem funny not to have a 'partner in crime' this year. I've about exhausted all ideas anyhoo! I have pics(can email them to anyone interested in seeing them), of all of the prize winners.except the year I was a cave woman dragging a life sized cave man by a rope,which I made..tee hee-every now & then, I'd whack the man w/a club. On my back was a sign that said "I love Clubbin'!" Barb..a rain barrel is cylindrical-a keg barrel is widest in the middle & tapers towards each end. dlhealedquilter..went to Target & will make that thing work if I can't get the barrel online that Paula linked me too. I agree, she's so cute it's scary. Just think about her being a teenager, that's really scary!

I have a couple of scary pictures too, I'll make a different post so maggie and Grandma can have this one all for themselves. She deserves it.

She is so cute and has the prettiest eyes! Just a very pretty little girl and I know just as much fun.

I will post the Mario Bros.pics soon. Mario and Luigi, the 2 yr. old was Luigi and I called him Lou. He put his hands on his hips and said "I am not Lou, I am Lu-e-she."

Aren't they fun?

We just have the best time.
