One kid came as a box of crayons....but it wasn't a homemade costume. We had a variety of kids....little ones mostly with face paint.
My DD went to work dressed like a hippie. In the parking lot by where she works a VW hippie van pulled in and her customers told her that her ride was there. She is a bartender at a little beach town.

Worst costume was my oldest ds. He always comes up with weird ideas and then complains when I don't pull it together for him. I made him be a zombie because he didn't have any other ideas. He put food coloring on his face for blood and it is not washing off. Duh! Little brother broke a red pen for blood the other day. I almost turned around and went home, but I didn't want him in the vehicle getting ink over the seats.

I liked a pimp costume I saw. It had red shoes and a fake fur coat. There wasn't a lot of original stuff out there. Almost no makestheir own costumes any more.

sigh only costumes we saw were on fb of the grands...no t or t'ers...

Cutest purchased costume was a little girl, maybe 9-10 months old, dressed as a zebra.

Cutest home made costume was a robot. Beautifully done, all in silver.

Worst 'non' costume was some guy who looked to be about 20 with stubble on his chin (if you're going to trick or treat with the kids at least shave) and no costume who came to the door and held out a pillow slip. Didn't bother to say think you either!

Most adorable costume was my 2 week old grandson who was dressed as Tigger :-)

I saw a sumo wrestler, Angry Bird, Mario & Luigi brothers, a shark, a few princesses and lots of scary masks.

A gorilla, a tiny little leopard cub, many a princess, and only a couple vampires. The rest had just face paint or no costumes at all.

All the little kids were cute. One teen came by around 5 pm with no costume, just a pillow case to hold his treats. I wanted to yell at him to go home.

DS(12) was a gorilla and I was a banana. I would go to the door alone and when they answered I would look from side to side saying either 'there's a gorilla who escaped from the zoo WATCH OUT' or 'Have you seen a big gorilla? He's after me' and then I'd run away (no candy or trick or treat bag). A minute later he would come to the door. LOL-it was fun.

Lisa--we got a gorilla and banana here, too. They were both wearing a sign that said, "Bananas are friends not food". Cute and gave me a chuckle.

I honestly didn't have time to take in the costumes. They came by so fast. I did notice a lot of witches and not very many princesses. I saw several Strawberry Shortcakes. Soldiers were popular. Nothing really stood out either way. I did take notice that all of the older kids put an effort of some degree into a costume. I love seeing the older kids enjoy trick or treating. A few girls questioned if they were too old. Heck, no! Kids can trick or treat until they graduate high school as far as I'm concerned. It's fun and innocent and it was great seeing everyone out enjoying the night.

My two favorites:

- A bag of jelly beans (person wore a clear garbage bag filled with colorful balloons)

- Jellyfish (clear plastic umbrellas with pastel plastic streamers, and the people wore white clothes)

I just had a few kids, but one little boy had no costume at all. He had his jacket zipped and pulled up over his face. He said he was a mountain climber.

There were very few kids trick or treating in our neighborhood.
I think the cutest one I saw was a certain little 2 1/2 yr old Bumble Bee!
Might be a tad bit prejudiced tho. LOL

Cutest: My 1-year-old DGS as Superman, cape and all. He's just learning to walk, so he was a stumbling, staggering, falling-down/getting-up Superman! I laughed so much.

Worst: a very pregnant woman in a 2-piece bridal gown with abdomen hanging out between the bottom of the top and the skirt part.

Funniest: a man who had about two days' stubble growth in a lovely pink lace dress, high heels, long pearls

These people did not come to our door, rather it was in a community costume parade.

Our neighborhood has steadily gone dwindled when it comes to trick or treaters. This year I didn't even put the porch light on. When I drove to the store after dark..I didn't even see anyone in costumes out and about. I think they all go to subdivisions now because the houses are closer together.
