Grant (and Camryn's) halloween costumes

Grant had a very simple costume this year. He was Dr. Grant, and the cutest doctor I've ever seen - what do you think??

He is really wierd about clothes. He doesnt even like jackets so I wanted to find a costume that was more like clothes than a costume. He doesnt get the whole dressing up thing yet anyway. I just wanted him to be comfy and not worry about what he was wearing. His name tag said Grant (last name) M.D.

And here I am with my good friend. I didnt have a costume, but Camryn went as a pumpkin. Not the best pic, but I'll show you anyway!

Love both of the pictures, Steph!

I bet Grant will love to dress up within the next year. I teach 2 and 3 year olds, and when they hit 3, they love our dress up cart! You were smart to go with what he's comfortable wearing.

What a cute little pumpkin! The doctor is very handsome!

I don't think you're "big" at all. You look lovely, and the baby bump is just perfect. I know you're uncomfortable, but the pay-off will be another precious baby!

I've enjoyed your stories and suggestions. Rhizo, I agree with you -- it's like a plague of locusts hitting us -- with the SUV's lined up out front coming from who knows where! Sometimes the "kids" look old enough to vote! My regret is that there isn't a good prediction of necessary quantity. Some years we have a hundred or more and run out; other years we get so few that we're left with a bunch of candy that I don't want! Here's a story though that makes opening that door to the little ones worthwhile: One Halloweed the doorbell rang; I opened the door to a little one (about 2 years or so) who said nothing -- just stood and stared at me. His dad was standing back in the shadows, otherwise the little boy was all alone. I said, "Is it trick or treat? Is that why you're standing on my porch looking like that?" The little boy said nothing, but the father stepped forward with a smile and said "sometimes he gets it and sometimes he doesn't." I gave the little boy some candy and the father started asking about my decorations and how I made them. As we were talking, I could tell the little boy was anxious to get on to more trick or treating. Finally he stepped forward and waved his hand in a sort of solute and said, "Well, Merry Christmas!" and turned and marched on. I said "and Merry Christmas to you too!" His dad rolled his eyes as if to say "like I said, sometimes he gets it and sometimes he doesn't." When I closed the door, my husband said "did I hear you wish someone a Merry Christmas", as if I had completely lost my senses! We laugh about that sweet little boy and re-tell the story often.

kitchenredo, I had looked at the Ebony Star before, and I think it didn't do so well with my flooring. But, it's really pretty! plllog, yes..I like drama. In decorating, and in my life, lol. rmkitchen, love the fireplace. What a conversation piece, and how very special! And thank you for the well wishes for our son. And I have to agree 100% about the advances in medicine. What he's having done was a LOT harder to go about 15 yrs ago. Iris, my heart skipped a beat when I clicked on that link. I soooo want to do that. I wonder how hard it would be?? Dh looked at me funny, grinned and said "whatever you want honey" :) Gotta love that man, lol. He's quite handy. Is he THAT handy??? Gosh, I don't know. I wonder just how hard it'd be??? Cookie cutter house, will that walls fall down if he removes the cabinets? lol. I know that means fixing walls, repainting, etc. But, I don't care! I would love to move those things up! Maybe not even to the very top. Because they have moulding, and there's moulding at the ceiling already. I kind of hate to disturb all that. But, would it make a big enough difference to just raise them higher? And do the shelf under?? Which I LOVE!!!

I just came here to post a picture. I'll do it in a different post. His costume this year was actually rather boring. My stubborn child wont even put a jacket on, much less a goofy halloween costume, so I decided to 'pick my battles' this year and not make a big deal out of it....so, he was a doctor. I needed to find something that was pretty much like regular clothes so he wouldn't fight me putting it on him. It's just not worth it. But he was the cutest doctor I've ever seen!! :-) Camryn even had a costume too!!! :-)

Grant looks so cute! Like a mini-doogie howser! Next year he will understand more and probably get more into it.

I swear Grant has one of the most happiest faces I have ever seen when he smiles. Any mention of Grant on your posts and I'm on it quicker than flies! LOL

Grant makes a great little doctor Steph and I think you are such a good Mom to pick him a costume that was comfy for him. He's such a darling boy. I love Camryn's costume too and you look terrific! Your friend looks a little pale, I think she needs to see Dr. Grant. :) Seriously, she's a very pretty woman.

Steph, you ended up with a perfect costume for Grant, considering his "preferences." :-)

And to have a pumpkin belly was very clever, too!

Just wondering, though -- you said a few times before that the new baby's name would be Cameryn Paige, but now you've spelled it Camryn. So you've decided to change the spelling??
